And I tell myself, I am have food, a house, I have enough money in my 401K and I have pension for life, why should I care. What does it matter to me, I even own guns, I have plenty of ammo, I have a license for conceal carry, I have land , if it hits the fan. Not being selfish! So what if a certain group keeps killing eachother, or the police kill a few of them, I don't like the FBI they seem to be against the people that I like, don't they have anything better to do. Then I read the pledge of Allegiance, and it says "One Nation", heck it even says "liberty and justice, for all", whatever the heck did they mean by "all". Not my dang problem. And I read the #Constitution and it even dare imply that it applies to "everyone" within the borders of this country, not just the citizens mind you it says everyone. Even George W. Knew that, remember that is exactly why we built "Gitmo", what did you think? And there is that bothersome 6th ammendment, it say that the police just can't go around killing people, even those that are suspects, we have something called due process, which precludes beatings, torture or murder of suspects. I have previously argued that there is a problem, mostly of our attitude that every single one of 1. Thinks that we are right, 2. We think that we should be able to, and can do whatever we like no matter what. And if you think that it is just the police problem, the criminal problem, the uppity poor problem, the "influencers" problem, the celebrity problem, you are not paying attention. You are not watching our politicians (at any level), our police (at any level), our judges ( at any level), and so on, no one really cares, in an airplane, a park, a restaurant or even a bathroom, for goodness sakes. The problem is spreading worldwide, and it says that (to me atleast), that the "ship" is about to hit the "shore", read it as you like. Think about it, the billionaires do not know you exist, but they plan our future, as to how we will live, where we will live, how we will work and how much and at what job, how we will be educated and how much, even what we will eat in the future, yet we believe that they only wish us well. Things are changing, whether you like it or not, in my 70 years I have seen changes and even you have seen changes, but we still cling to the idea that it will always be like it was, the past doesn't exist, it will not come back, unless ofcourse we manage to destroy everything we have and start over again. We don't want to hear of things we don't like, we all already know everything. If you read what I said about the future then at hand , back in the February of 2020, you will see that what I was predicting came true, word for word, about the shortages, the supply chain problems, the wage inflation, shut downs, all of it, and we hadn't even yet been told that there was a problem. (I can repost if you like). Similarly, before the "Russian invasion", I had predicted "the war", and its consequences, and again it is all there, where will it end, only Biden and the IMF and the WEF know, we will only suffer the consequences. For now we are "winning", aren't you happy? The inflation is not under control, don't believe the BS. War is nowhere close to over, and no one wants peace, have you heard anyone suggesting a reset? The news is only about the ten percent of the top and thirty percent at the bottom of society, no one cares about the 60 percent in the middle, you and I are not worth the time. The top ten percent and bottom ten percent are equally garbage, and there is plenty of stink to go around. Don't be shocked at the shenanigans in DC, the governments the world over are equally as corrupt as they are incompetent, and it is by design. It is just like when the pick pockets are out, some are there to distract you while the others steal your wallet. Pay attention, not to the drama though, read between the lines, you are being scammed, both (all) sides are lying, all are in on the grift. And there are far too many of us that already "know" everything there is to know and don't want to know anything else, and there are those that don't know anything and couldn't be bothered, so here we are. Yesterday I banned someone from this page, something I have rarely done, and always for the same reason, the person started posting memes, they posted about 80 (not kidding) in succession, to prove (apparantly) that they know all there is to know, if you can not make a point in your own words then you don't know enough. It is the same with our political system, bothsides seem to offer you something, for your own good presumably, but the result in either case is that you are "owned". Our financial system is a ponzi scheme, but it is not the "social security" as they claim. It is when the government "borrows" money to keel it operational, but that money ends up as the profits of a corporation or in the pockets of the wealthy as interest payments or corporate dividends. Do the math. Many an average citizen believes they are too savvy to be taken in, but they are wrong. We believe that our own local governments and police are not corrupt but believe that the federal government is. We believe that our local governments are honest, but the truth is far from it, we believe our own children are perfect and the problem is the kids of the other people. It is not just you or I though. Apparently no one really knows what to do with the future if there were to be one. We have a choice though, reduce consumption, reduce consumerism, but destroys the corporate power, that destroys the profit engines of the rich, that control the federal reserve and the federal government, and it is worldwide, through the IMF and WEF, if the consumption is reduced then the pressure on the natural resources is reduced also, but on the flip side, the standard of living goes down, the unemployment goes up and the populations become restive. Something new comes up every day that takes our attention away, maybe I have ADD, or maybe the events in our world move too fast. History is being written every second of our lives, and we miss out on so much. Also while we look at something of particular interest in the moment a thousand other things happen that we don't notice. Last time I was talking about the Congress and the war in Ukraine and such. What else has happened since, have you noticed? Last week our attention has been on a particular person, a particular meme, while there is a deadline looming. Whether the US will default on her obligations, there is a conference at Davos, 2500 people are there to dictate the future of humanity, (your input is neither heeded nor welcome, plebes!) While we are talking about demoncrats or rethuglicans and happy and proud of ourselves as to how smart and witty we are, the Congress is debating whether the elderly of this country deserve to eat, after having worked their whole lives. And while we are distracted by the price of eggs the cost of prescription drugs keeps sky rocketing, but who cares. We are a nation, a people, a country, a society, what are we ? Do we know? We don't care about our own relatives, our own neighbors, heck we don't even care about our own kids. All we know ( well most of us do anyway) that if we have more money and things than the next guy, the future is secure for our kids, damn the rest. What history are we making, what do we really know, or care about, nothing, not a damn thing. And we don't even know that. Life is not that simple anymore, we complain about the price of eggs, price of gas, price of prescription medicine, and then we sit back and watch Congress do nothing. We watch the city hall talk about zoning and bringing in more Tacobells, while the neighborhoods are derelict. We talk about having more people, but not about how they will make a living or pay their bills with the prevailing wages, or who will educate them, or will they be able to make rent. What do we care about our country, our society. The future is not about who will be able to eat, the future is foretold in the McDonald's ad on Facebook, " wanna go halfsise on a McNuggets, surely you don't wanna spend money on your date/spouse/friend/ grandma. So I was called out for sharing a meme, I actually made it myself, comparing the "AI" Megan of a movie and the other one that does not require an introduction on line today. As a self proclaimed feminist it has been my aim to advocate for women, for equal pay, maternity leave, and such. I have also worked, with and under professional females, in and out of the Army, I have supervised and taught young ladies in many jobs, and situations. I have worked with Trans and gay professional also, I have worked with a cross dressing officer, I have worked with cross dressing office supervisor, and thatbwas back in the seventies and eighties and the nineties. Grow up. I am not a misogynist, far from it, I am above that. I wasn't born yesterday nor I need to be chastised for the meme I made and posted both here and on my personal page. Back about 23 years ago, I wrote a poem with these lines "Life is all shades of gray waters green, white or blue your smile bright as today sell your soul and you change the hue" Life is not always simple, not always black or white, there are sometimes shades of grey, but also there are definite lines one may not cross. Just as there are rules in every game, there are also some rules in society, some lines, some boundaries. Like I once, back in my old writings, said, even if you are making a pile of $hi# you have to have a boundary or it will just scatter and spread, yet we (some of us don't want any boundaries), isn't that the same argument that the gun owners (like myself like to make. Earlier today, I had posted a quote from MLK, "intelligence plus character- that is the goal of true education", but what if have no certain definition of "character". Once again, I go back to my other assertion that money gives you the freedom to do what you want, which I also mentioned in one of my comments on the Hunter S. Thompson quote. No one made memes about (not many) about Elon Musk making babies, simultaneously, with many women, Nick Cannon also made babies all over the place, no problem, Jerry Fallwell Jr. However, was called out and made fun of his kink, no one said a word about wife. So is the girl being shamed unfairly? There are lines and boundaries, and there should be, one it was a work place, and her coworkers, no matter what organization, even at a McDonald's or the Waffle House this would not be acceptable, it is not acceptable in a school, not in a church, not in the military, I am sure it us not acceptable in a grass cutting business, and why she is the only one shamed, she was the one with many others, the others were still with just one. What about the wives and children of the people she had affairs with, do they have any rights and consideration? Were they also in "open relationships"? What will be the consequences for their partners and families? What about marriages breaking up, children losing their homes, their "families", their fathers? She is okay and whole in her relationship, what about the other 8 or 9 people and their relationships? What if this leads to a situation of spousal abuse, child neglect and worse? Freedom isn't free, someone said, her freedom doesn't mean she can take away that freedom from children at her will. (Neither should a man be able to). It is not simple, it is not shades of grey, it is black and white. If you are single and the others a single also, do what you want, but not in a work place. This places many hard working professionals in an awkward position, we already have people not treating women fairly, this gives the backwards minded an excuse. And what about the word "marriage", and I am even pro "gay marriage", the word marriage has a specific meaning, it has vows and commitments involved, marriage is not like a lending closet, either marry ( in every sense of the word) or do not. What happens to the career of such a person, whether male or female, what when they are up for a promotion, how do they perform as a leader? As a supervisor, as a preacher, a president even, it is not all about sex, it is about self worth at sometime or another. No doubt there is real and useful information in any subject you like, positive or negative, anything at all, cooking, auto repair, history astronomy, aliens, whatever you like. At the same time there is some of the worst possible garbage here also. I will not mention any topics. Someone may be offended. What used to be called "abnormal behavior", quirk, kink, fetish freakish, is here, and why not, may be one in ten thousand may be interested. You have to be informed enough, mature enough, care enough, and yes smart enough to keep yourself away from stuff that can cause you real problems if not outright destroy your life, destroy your family, and even your finances. (I know, if you are rich enough and have the right connections none of it matters). Bad enough that the government (at any level) can place evidence of a "crime" on your computer, your statements can be misinterpreted, and your intentions even can be twisted, in other words you can never be too careful. Around the world, there are 50 million so called influencers, not that many, but what it does show is that far too many of us are "influenced" in to buying a product or an idea, therefore not "free thinkers", we depend on others to tell us what to buy, what feel, what to think. Most of us are, apparently, enough to make a company to sell a product, or for a politician or a party to use "influencers" and pay them to covert us. The problem is not just on the internet though, some of the worst sell outs are on the media (social, print and TV) , they are paid a lot of money to try to "convert" us. The average citizen does not know, or does not believe that they are being sold a bill of goods. Never in the history of man kind, the rich have promoted any idea that benefits the poor or the working class, not the left or the right, never. If you have any examples please share. I write about the abyss, started a few years back, writing, . ABYSS, is a very deep hole, deeper than you can imagine, and then a bit more, Nietzsche said, if you stare into the abyss, the abyss stares back. But we don't like to stare into the abyss, better not to think, better not find out who we are, or all our faults, but we will look into the abyss anyway, a bit later. I am not intimidated, not easily, I like to think, mostly about who, or even what I am or maybe, I scare myself sometimes, often. I like to imagine large numbers, infinity for instance. I like infinity, the only thing that scares me, not the the universe though, that some imagine may be limitless, that doesn't scare me at all, time scares me, if time exists. The universe started with the big bang 13.8 billions years. ( please don't argue), but what happened before, a trillion years before the big bang, a trillion trillion years, before that and a trillion, trillion, trillion years before that, infinity is huge, time is limitless, time doesn't exist. So, I am scared, I am scared of the "infinite time", and it will continue, forever, beyond infinity. I am looking into the abyss. There is an asteroid made of gold, so much gold that we could give everyone billions of dollars, but if we could get all that gold, we will just be as poor as ever. Basic economics, I can give you a link that explains all that. Last night I was talking about our system, political and economic systems both are based on lies, and we believe whichever side we choose. We humans have been around a while, we know the good and the bad, it is not that one side or the other is absolutely right or wrong, but we choose a side and believe that we are on the right side, good luck. We choose the history we like, we choose the economics that we like, and we choose the politics that we like, there is no right or wrong, we just make our own selves happy, whatever lie we believe. Don't stare too long into the abyss. It is really never about right or wrong, we don't want to notice, we don't like to be reminded. I have been meaning to write the last couple of nights, but my thoughts are scattered, as is my brain also. Are you superstitious? Do you believe in coincidences? Synchronicity? Repeating numbers. They say that such things have meanings, pairs of numbers have meanings and repeating pairs of numbers too. There are 365 days in a year, something happens everyday, every single day, but if something important happens on a certain date for you, repeatedly? I have a few such dates. 8th and 11th of January, 4th of May, and the number "42", yes 42 , believe it or not. How about you? Do you also have a repeating date, a repeating number? Anyway, we changed to the 12th of January 2 minutes ago. No one likes to be lied to, but we get in a habit of lying, we also get in a habit of being lied to, and the cycle continues, until one or the other party decides not to participate in the game. Yet we have a culture, ( modern culture), based on lies, the employers lie, the employees lie, the politicians and the policemen lie, and ofcourse the lawyers lie. The game continues. There was a time when telling lies was considered a taboo, no longer, in our culture today we are so used to lying that no one bats an eye. We lie and we believe our own lies, what is the difference? Where are the boundaries? At what point we consider lying unacceptable? There are reasons that the ancient philosophers, the mystics and the prophets admonished us against lying, the scriptures have a Commandment against lying. But today, our whole system is based on lies, from the bottom to the top, and we are okay with it. And we only complain about the real world consequences. We will do nothing to control the runaway spending, nothing to improve education, to reduce poverty and homelessness. We will talk crap and more crap and everyone will get reelected. Is this a great country or what? There real solutions to our problems, but our leaders don't talk about that, they don't want us to know. If we solbe our problems they will have no jobs, and no one will bribe them any longer. We know that our politicians have no morals, to gain his speakership McCarthy agreed to undermine the #Constitution, there will be more power in the committees, which will by default make the speaker a figurehead. But that is just the beginning, the infighting among the Republicans maybe getting worse real soon as more and more factions jockey for power, just watch, we still have a faction loyal to Mr Trump, others that still believe in Qanon, and there are others still that will try to get on board the DeSantis train. Some already have. And the war in Ukraine that so many Republicans were against, now that they will be heads of committees and incharge of funding what will happen to the aid for Ukraine, how will they please the defense contractors, will they sue for peace? Don't count on it. It will only increase, Zelensky has been selling the Ukraine to the oligarchs, to the world Bank, the IMF and the other Western banks, he will not be allowed to make peace, Ukrainian destruction and the plight if their refugees, the food shortage world wide, the starvation in African countries is no reason to give up profits. The Congress will thus focus on Hunter's laptop and Fauci investigations to keep us all entertained. There are three branches of government, no matter what the Supreme Court justices know or think, the DOJ comes under the executive branch but the Congress is already wanting to control the DOJ investigations, watch the fireworks. Don't we recognize that all our lives, everyday we do the same thing but we define the day by things that we do, while no matter what we do it is still a part of the same thing, "Life"! It is not that complicated really, if you open your eyes and understand. We all have, most of us, two eyes, but one brian. We know if we look at something with just one eye and then with the other, it looks slightly different, left eye, right eye, same picture but different view. That is also true of most of reality, we look at the same picture but it looks different to different people. Like democrats and Republicans. We live in a world of some 8 billion people, it is only natural that some will view the same thing differently than others. The differences are not really irreconcilable unless we decide to make them so, that is where ego comes in. Ego is always and only about "what is in it for me". Let's say if someone that want to be the speaker, someone that wants a certain person to be the speaker happens to die tonight, what will it matter to that person, yet in the grand scheme of things, we want to get what we want, no matter what. The world hasn't stopped, nothing has or is going to change, all the useless drama , who cares. How will the life for you and I will change regardless of who the speaker is, just ask yourself, and be honest with your answer, you will not be graded. Then if you really dare, just leave your answer as a comment. Can or will the Congress stop the inflation, raise or lower the gas prices , pay for your new dentures, make your drugs cheaper. I am pro the 2d ammendment, but you and I both know that the ammo prices have gone through the roof, guns are more expensive but there is no shortage, the gun and ammo makers are making profits hand over fist, just because they can, the same is true for other prices, price gouging is legal. Congress won't stop that. There was a lot of noise that the current government had banned leasing of land for oil exploration, but when they actually opened the bids for leasing there were no takers. Then there was an actual senator complaining about the $1.7 trillion budget, but pointing out items that cost from a few thousands to a couple of million, do you know what fraction $187,000 is of a 1.7 trillion, if you want to cut spending then take on the social security or defense, that is where the spending goes. But we want to feel good, feel proud, how smart we are, we are diligent, we are just as proud of our senators and Congress people as we are of our 2d grader grand baby that made the line leader, about similarly accomplished. There is good news though, soon as we get our act together we will cut the budget deficit, and close the border this reducing the illegal immigration and the drug trafficking. I am kidding, that will not happen, I have heard the same thing for the last fifty years, every year. It won't happen, too many jobs depend on having drugs available and cheap. And food prices will jump if we stop the illegals from coming. Plus we have a decline in birth rates while our economy depends upon consumption, we can not do without the other. Whoever the next speaker is, the person will have no power, he/she will be beholden to the ones that get them elected, and that sword of Damocles will hang over their head. I was listening to the feed from the house floor, the roll call for the vote for the speaker of the house, results were predictable. There is a word in the English dictionary that is just as overused as it is meaningless. The word, believe it or not is "HONOR", and thus it was, the clerk of the house called every member "honorable", really they did, I was lying down on my bed, and I was "live bloging", honorable? What does that even mean? We are talking about an institution that has agreed not to investigate its members for "ethics violations", we have people that are members there, but would be in jail if they had been "ordinary citizens". People that are bought, and paid for their services. Honor? You gotta be joking. I wrote a series of articles about the word "honor" if any of you are interested. I grew up watching western movies, and reading cowboy novels. Without getting philosophical, honor always had something to do with being just and fair, and also with being truthful and "man of one's word". Times have changed, somewhere along the way in my 70 years, truth, fairness and honesty have all lost their meaning and value. Even those that claim to be moral or righteous and even religious don't mind hedging. Politics, by definition is a game of deception, it is lies, cheating and conniving, why would one want to get their faith and moral values involved in it. One more thing also, Kevin McCarthy found out today that you can raise snakes, you can make friends with snakes, you can play with snakes, but in the end, they are still snakes. LIFE IS A GAME OF CONNECT THE DOTS, IF YOU DON'T CONNECT ALL THE DOTS OR DON'T CONNECT THEM IN THE RIGHT ORDER YOU NEVER GET THE PICTURE IN OTHER WORLDS 1e "Curb your enthusiasm" Like I was saying last night, even, this is my personal blog page, even though I do spend two dollars each day to advertise it. I offer posts that I consider informative, sometimes entertaining, and even absurd. I do also share my thoughts on life, economy and culture. I am not looking to convince or convert anyone. I appreciate every single one of you being here, much more so for getting involved. Not to push your agenda but to share your thoughts in impartial way as an American, as someone that is interested in the future of humanity, not a political philosophy. Ironically, on one of my personal posts about our "personal" improvement, someone commented that everyone that does not think like that person should be done away with. Not good, not a great idea. We are in this together, the country belongs to "all" its citizens, the world belongs to all its 8 billion plus inhabitants, you or I do not a a divine right over the rest. The Constitution also applies to all the citizens, you or I are not above the rest. Then today, someone mentioned that only the people of one particular type were being "persecuted", I asked for examples and the person decided to "unfollow" instead. Sad a grown up person can not handle being asked to confront the facts and reality. That is even not the point. I want us to share ideas, not promote agendas, this is not meant to be a place for partisan politics, it is about all Americans. About what benefits all of us, and where we could go next. Please , do share your thoughts. I quote from the #scriptures and ancient and recent philosophers, I do not push religion, do not mention my own faith or beliefs, you are not obligated to be like me or think like me, tolerate me and I agree to tolerate you and your thoughts. But I will ask you to give examples, facts, to prove your point. We are all grown ups, the page is presented to people over thirty, hope you are not underage, better yet not immature. As of today, the page has 7400 followers, I hope everyone of you will stay with me. And share the page with your friends, crazy uncles are also welcome if they behave. I have said this before, if, a+b+c+d=X, but you don't know the value of "a" or "b" then X is not a conspiracy, you just don't have all the relevant information. Much of what we see in the world today, starvation, concentration of wealth, population reduction, food shortage, high food prices, higher taxes, are not the result of a conspiracy they are the natural results of the policies we have followed for the last hundred years. LIFE IS A GAME OF CONNECT THE DOTS, IF YOU DON'T CONNECT ALL THE DOTS OR DON'T CONNECT THEM IN THE RIGHT ORDER YOU NEVER GET THE PICTURE IN OTHER WORLDS 1d "Curb your enthusiasm" Hard to believe, it has been 10 days without me writing a post, probably the longest break in years. A stress test, Christmas, heart cath, new years. Blah blah. All excuses, I am not dead yet. Atleast not that I remember. I tried to watch the doctor putting in stents, but kept dozing off, I did watch the probe at my heart before being totally out, I am fine. Thanks. I told you a while back, about three months ago, I had started to watch "Peaky Blinders", I really don't like to watch TV, I like to read, but it was actually a good show, if you have seen it and want to talk about it. I also started, now, to watch "Wednesday", I'll probably not watch the whole thing, I watched the first episode, I like it, it is dark. I have always ctricized TV, because watching a show requires full attention and engagement, you don't actually have time to do much critical thinking, take or leave it. It is not like a book where you stop reading and do some contemplating. Some critical thinking, may be even argue against the hypothesis. TV is entertainment as well as education. So many people that we talk to often get their opinions form our favorite channels, and we keep watching the same people saying the same things over soany times that we start to believe that we actually know something. Neither here nor there. It is not about the politics or the economy, not about the left or the right. Just look around and notice. We humans are copy cats, like it or not, we are influenced by our family, by our neighbors, teachers, and ofcourse by the books that we read and shows that we watch. We have families of doctors, families of lawyers, families of policemen, families of firefighters, families of politicians even. We do what we see others do, grooming is done by the family, grooming is something that happens everywhere all day, naturally. Grooming is not a cuss word. What do they scriptures say about raising a child, yes!! Years ago I had brought up the subject of "peer pressure", it is valid in all walks of life, and not just in politics, remember we banned the cigarette advertising, we had campaigns against drug use, the beer ads don't show anyone actually drinking.
