UNIONS, NO UNIONS, FACTS

UNIONS, NO UNIONS, FACTS

There is a debate going on in this country, centered in Wisconsin and spreading outwards about unions and their effectiveness and problems caused by the unions. Let not the bullshit cover up the facts.

The issue is emotional among the true believers both in the union and the non union camps and both sides are given to  twisting the facts to their own taste. Much as Ronald Reagan started with PATCO and the Southern States adapted it is a calling from the LORD the demise of the US workers unions has been a prolonged and continuing death march. With most workers not involved past paying their dues, and the corrupt union bosses who took their salaries and sold out the workers the process has been  slow but continuous, and for a cause.

There are many factors at work here, and we can not out right blame the government,  the workers, the unions and  the civil service workers or the teachers all in the singular, all are to be blamed in part, and in whole sometimes as individuals.

First we must look at the nation as a whole, who have we become, as workers, as students, as teachers and as other service providers? In a word, lousy.

I walked in to a McDonalds at the Panama City Beach and asked the young lady for a cup of coffee, black, would you like cream and sugar with that she asked. I wanted to pull my hair out but realized that I am bald. Surely that 17 to 19 year old child had teachers in her life, may be a social worker or two and a host of teachers too. I could tell you more about my plight that she she did not know where to find the coffee cups and then she did not know where the coffee pot was either.

I was to report to  Ft. McCoy, ironically in Wisconsin for my ANOC, my orders were delayed and I called the Reserve Command at St. Louis, seven times in a span of two hours, seven times it had to give the gentleman, same person, my name rank, SSN and the reason for my call, I could have blown an artery that day.

LIFE IS A GAME OF CONNECT THE DOTS, IF YOU DON'T CONNECT ALL THE DOTS OR DON'T CONNECT THEM IN THE RIGHT ORDER YOU NEVER GET THE PICTURE

You make a lot of good points, but what came first workers not doing a good job or workers not being compensated well. Not to mention that most jobs are thankless. You used the McDonald’s worker as an example but how much do you want to bet that even if she was perfect that anyone would just say thanks, not many and even thou you shouldn’t do a job just to hear thanks it does feel good and that is the reason many of us do try our best.
