BLAME IT ON THE MOON

BLAME IT ON THE MOON

As in why we are so stupid, the CNN Money blog takes it upon itself to inform the public. And here is a discussion of the trade policy with China for your American mind's consumption.

Lawmakers: U.S. should crack down on China

One would hope that there would be a open and honest discussion of the trade situation here, but would have been fooled reading this and become more ill informed that needed.

"NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Two members of Congress circulated a letter amongst colleagues on Friday that accuses China of consistent violations of international trade law, and warns the behavior will no longer be tolerated."

"Michaud and McCotter see the visit as a golden opportunity for President Obama to press China on trade issues."

"Trade pressures between China and the United States have been growing, with U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner saying in a speech earlier this week that China needed to do more to address the trade gap and U.S. complaints about an undervalued Chinese currency."

For some reason I can not comment on this article on the CNN blog, but here is what I think.

The attitude of this kind of our American leaders is laughable and in my estimation only for the public consumption here. If this was a poker game we would have already thrown our hand in or the Chinese would have called our bluff. I think after the photographers  leave and the doors are closed, Obama will be doing the only thing any president would be doing, kissing the Chinese presidents feet and begging him for mercy.

We have nothing over the Chinese, they do not really need us, but  that we buy from them things, most of which we do not need. What will do? not buy Chinese computers?  Big screen TVs? Hand tools made in China? What? What? We don't make anything we just consume, we are a consumer economy.

What will we do? Raise the tariffs on the Chinese goods?  ( " In September, the House took aim at China, and approved legislation that would authorize the Commerce Department to impose duties on imports from countries with undervalued currencies.")  Then who will buy the stuff and where will the money come from? OH the Chinese, right, but they may not loan us money if we don't buy their junk. And all the Wal Mart cashiers (oh sorry, the Associates HA HA, how stupid are we) will be  laid off, and the stock clerks too.

Oh and we will have to stop driving also because most of our tires are now made in China too.

You see we have nothing to threaten the Chinese with. Like I said in a letter to Bush W. when he had only proposed the first so called stimulus ( a must read), that just send the check to the Chinese directly.

If you are really interested in the future of the United States and may be just curious as to how much longer we have left then you must read this letter also that was published in my local paper on March 8th of 2008, titled a Reality Check, then you will know what mess we are in.

As it is, at least as I see it, nothing has changed since Obama took the office, the same policies and the same destruction of the United States is continuing. Obama that some people (not me!) thought was the second coming has been a rat like Bush was. Nothing he has done is different.

The charade goes on still.
