Fw: 20 Facts About Child Hunger And Child Poverty That Will Break Your Heart | Republic Broadcasting Network

Here is discussion I got in to with a dear dear friend on face book about the poverty and the plight of the poor in the USA. To let you know I have been poor, I have been homeless and penny less, I have been broke and I have been in bankruptcy so what I say is not just something I have have imagined up. I grant you this also that I have not been really poor in a very long time, I just spent as much on my daughter's high school graduation as some people will make in a month or two work a small job, It was my honor and my privilege, and she is a great kid.
This not the first time I have come across a discussion of poverty and I am a liberal, just not a silly bleeding heart liberal, I have proceed to post a the article about real poverty before posting the article from cracked up because it is really too narrow in its focus.

My  view on poverty and its problems is eclectic,  even as I wish to help all the poor I am not so stupid to think that all the money in the world taken from the rich  and given to the poor will make us all equal. And I also believe that many of the problems of the poor are caused as much by the poor and their bad choices as they are of oppression and and injustice of the rich and the system, ofcourse I have explored these in  much detail in my writings also.

The Economic Collapse Blog
Did you know that nearly half of the 44 million Americans that are on food stamps today are children?  Did you know that more than a fifth of all U.S. children are living in poverty and that a fourth of all U.S. children are enrolled in the food stamp program?  Did you know that most of the people that starve to death around the globe are children?  In 2011, child hunger and child poverty are major problems in the United States and they are at epidemic levels in many areas of the world.  The facts that are you are about to read are tough to stomach and they are meant to break your heart.  Most of us need to be touched on an emotional level before we will take action.  As I have written about previously, the world is on the verge of a horrific global food crisis.  Unless a miracle happens, there is not going to be nearly enough food for everyone in the world in the future.  We all need to prepare so that we will be able to feed our own families when that time comes and so that we will be able to be generous and share with others in need.
The food stamp program is the modern equivalent of the old-fashioned bread lines.  Today, the number of Americans on food stamps is absolutely exploding.  Despite claims that the economy is "recovering", the number of Americans relying on food assistance just continues to increase.
Many food retailers have seen food stamp usage soar to unprecedented levels.  Just check out the following quote from a recent article posted on the website of a local Pennsylvania news station….
"The trend started about three years ago and it has increased significantly we have some stores up 40% from last year," said Scott Karns owner of seven Karns Supermarkets in central PA.
Sadly, a disproportionate number of those on food stamps are children.  Even as you read this article, there are millions of children in the United States that are wondering where their next meal is going to come from.
The following are 20 facts about child hunger and child poverty that will break your heart….
#1 According to one recent study, approximately 21 percent of all children in the United States were living below the poverty line in 2010. In the UK and in France that figure is well under 10 percent.
#2 According to the U.S. Census, the number of children living in poverty has gone up by about 2 million in just the past 2 years.
#3 Today, one out of every four American children is on food stamps.
#4 It is being projected that approximately 50 percent of all U.S. children will be on food stamps at some point in their lives before they reach the age of 18.
#5 It is estimated that up to half a million children may currently be homeless in the United States.
#6 More than 44 million Americans are currently on food stamps.  That is an all-time record and that number is 18 million higher than it was back at the beginning of 2007.
#7 48 percent of the 44 million Americans that are now on food stamps are children.
#8 According to Feeding America's 2010 hunger study, more than 37 million Americans are now being served by food pantries and soup kitchens.
#9 The number of Americans that are going to food pantries and soup kitchens has increased by 46% since 2006.
#10 According to Feeding America, 50.2 million Americans lived in "food insecure households" during 2009.
#11 Even with tens of millions of Americans on food stamps there are still large numbers of Americans that go hungry each night. According to the BBC, 15% of all U.S. households experienced a shortage of food at some point during 2009.
#12 More than 20 million U.S. children rely on school meal programs to keep from going hungry.
#13 One out of every six Americans is now enrolled in at least one government anti-poverty program.
#14 The poorest 50% of all Americans collectively own just 2.5% of all the wealth in the United States.  Statistically, there are more children in poor households than in wealthy ones.
#15 Child hunger is a major problem all over the world. Approximately 1 billion people around the world go to bed hungry each night.
#16 A lack of food among pregnant women in developing countries results in one out of every 6 babies being born with a low birth weight.
#17 Approximately 28 percent of all children in developing countries are considered to be underweight or have had their growth stunted as a result of malnutrition.
#18 More than 3 billion people, close to half the world's population, live on less than 2 dollar a day.
#19 Somewhere in the world someone starves to death every 3.6 seconds, and 75 percent of those are children under the age of five.
#20 Almost 9 million children around the world died before they reached their fifth birthday during 2008.  Approximately a third of all of those deaths were attributed to hunger and malnutrition.
Most Americans have traditionally thought of "hunger" as something that happens over in Africa or Asia, but that is simply not the case anymore.
There are tens of millions of Americans that would be going without enough food if it weren't for the food stamp program, school meal programs, food pantries, soup kitchens and the kindness of religious organizations.
Sadly, as the price of food continues to rise there are tens of millions more Americans that are on fixed incomes or on limited incomes that are going to be facing food insecurity.
The average American now spends approximately 23 percent of his or her income on food and gas.  That is going to rise even higher thanks to all of the new money that the U.S. government and the Federal Reserve have pumped into the financial system.
Inflation is a hidden tax that is very cruel.  It hits those with limited resources the hardest.
What are most American families going to do someday when a loaf of bread is 10 dollars and a gallon of milk is 20 dollars?
And it is not just the price of food that is going up.
According to consulting firm Milliman Inc., the average American family of four that is covered by health insurance had an average of $19,393 in health care costs last year.
Many Americans (even if they have insurance) are simply avoiding doctors and avoiding hospitals altogether because they can no longer afford them.
Our whole system is breaking down.  As the economy crumbles, frustration and anger are rising.  As I have written about previously, the number of Americans that have "gone wild" seems to be increasing.
The following are a couple more examples of this phenomenon….
*When things start falling apart, people start going crazy.  Just recently, one man stripped naked while riding a New York city subway.  He hurled racial and ethnic slurs at the people around him and physically harassed a couple of people before a cop was able to wrestle him to the ground.
*Another example of this happened in California just a few days ago.  An elderly woman pulled out a gun and held up a pregnant woman outside of a Kohl's department store in broad daylight on Mother's Day.  When old women start shoving guns in our faces and demanding our money that should be a sign to all of us that things really are starting to fall to pieces.
Things are starting to get crazy but this is just the beginning.
Someday when the global economy is in shambles and there is a massive global food crisis, what do you think Americans are going to do when they have been without food for 3 or 4 days and their families are crying out for something to eat?
Don't think that it won't happen.  The era of endless amounts of cheap food is coming to an end.  There is going to be a massive amount of hunger and poverty in the years to come.

5 Things Nobody Tells You About Being Poor

Being poor is like a game of poker where if you lose, the other players get to fuck you. And if you win, the dealer fucks you.
A bunch of you reading this are among the 45 million "working poor" in America, and if you're not, you know somebody who is. Like me.

Getty.com
Or 60 percent of all retired NBA players, according to this site.
I'm not blaming anybody but myself for getting into this situation (I was drunk for two straight decades) and I'm not asking for anybody's sympathy. What I am saying is that people are quick to tell you to pick yourself up by your bootstraps and just stop being poor. What they don't understand is the series of intricate financial traps that makes that incredibly difficult.
If you're not poor, that's awesome. I'm not mad at you, or jealous. Hopefully you'll never find out that ...
#5.
You Get Charged for Using Your Own Money

This is the future, where many businesses no longer accept cash as payment. That means you are required to have a checking account to function in the economy. And if you're poor, that means at some point you're going to get bank-fucked.
Because having a checking account while poor doesn't just mean you have to be responsible and good at math -- you have to be perfect. Meticulous, flawless record keeping is the difference between surviving and having the bank seize your next paycheck.

Let's say you're running late for work and hurriedly stop to get gas, paying with a bank card. In your haste you forget to write the $55 down (gas being $4 a gallon, you know). So while you spent the last week until payday thinking you had $50 in your account to absorb minor purchases, you actually were $5 in the red.
So payday comes. You go to the bank to deposit your check, at which point the bank takes it, sticks it in their pocket and says, "Thank you very much! I'm buying myself a new pair of shoes with that shit!" They then inform you that your account was at -$200 at the moment you deposited your check.
Photos.com
Oh, it gets a lot worse, stock photo woman.
The bank can hit you with a $35 fine for every charge that comes in while you are in minus territory. The bank will not tell you they charged you this money. You will have no idea anything is wrong.
It's a silent chain reaction in which every charge that comes through during those few days before payday draws the $35 fee. The $8 you spent at the gas station for cigarettes, the $24.99 that automatically comes out for your Internet access ... for each, the bank silently zaps out the charge and $35 on top of it, until your next paycheck is gone. Five seconds of oversight gave the bank the right to take away a week's worth of your labor.
Some of you are saying, "Fine, just tell the bank to go fuck itself. Walk out the door and just do everything by cash or money order." Ah, but now when you get paid, you have to go somewhere to cash your paycheck -- and businesses charge up to $8 to do it. If you're working in the service industry, congratulations -- an hour of your labor just vanished ... just so you could use your own money. Some describe this as a "poverty tax." Others refer to it as a "Because fuck you, that's why" fee.
Photos.com
The one piece of advice I can offer here is that you'll be surprised how many businesses will give you some leeway if you just call them and beg. Banks are run by human beings (as of the writing of this article) and if you get a person on the phone you can get them to waive overdraft fees, particularly if it's a first offense. Even businesses waiting on a payment will give you an extra week or two if you call and explain it. In this economy, they're so used to people just taking the money and disappearing that they're happy to hear you're operating in some kind of good faith.
Otherwise, you're going to be in a bind. And this is when you'll find out ...
#4.
There is an Industry That Profits by Keeping You Poor

Think you're too smart to ever use one of those shady "payday loan" places? Well, you should know that nobody thinks they're a good deal. People go there because they're choosing between which fucking provides the most lube.
Photos.com
Yeah, when you're done choosing, just stay in that position, buddy.
Say the gas bill is a month past due, and they're threatening to turn it off (if so, it's $150 to get it reconnected). Or you're about to be late on a credit card payment (which would be a fee and a doubling of your interest rate). Or your favorite S&M whip broke, and Whipfest is coming up (entry fee is nonrefundable). That is when you find yourself swallowing your pride and heading to the payday loan place.

A standard 14-day "payday" loan charges $15.50 per $100 borrowed. So a $500 loan ends up being $577.50 (or 1.5 tanks of gas in interest). But if you don't have it after 14 days, that's fine -- they offer to extend your loan to 180 days. It makes the payments miniscule. Oh, and you'll be paying back $1,275 at 403.10 percent APR.
Yes, you got fucked, in the name of your financial asshole avoiding the credit card company's bigger, barbed dick. And it's a hell of a lot better than going over on your checking account again and starting up their infinite circular fuckatron.
Via Travelblog.org
Using this.
All right, let's say you wisen up. You save and cut back. You resist an offer to, say, buy a computer on Best Buy's finance plan, because you're too smart to take on more debt. And no monthly cell phone payments for you, oh no. You're not going to put yourself in a hole again!
Congratulations. You just did. It turns out ...
#3.
No Credit Can be Just as Damaging as Bad Credit

On the spectrum of financial responsibility, from "that billionaire who drives an old Dodge Dakota" down to "MC Hammer," you'd think that the next step up from being overdue on a bunch of bills would be to have no bills at all. Don't buy it if you can't afford it, right?
You'll find out the problem the next time somebody does a credit check -- having no credit will stop you from getting a loan or an apartment just as fast as having bad credit. And more importantly, if you have old bad credit due to a bunch of previous fuckups, simply vanishing off the credit map doesn't do anything to fix it.
Photos.com
It sounds good in theory, though.
It took me six months to find a place to rent after applying for every property that appeared in the paper across five towns. I was denied each time. It was my lack of credit due to years of me and lenders deciding to just stay out of each other's hair, like those old sitcoms where roommates would draw a line down the middle of the house. I even used a prepaid cell phone where I'd just be buying minutes off the shelf rather than get locked into a contract with all those termination fees and shit. When I needed something big, like a computer upgrade or furniture, I'd wait for a windfall, like a tax return, and pay cash. It's called financial responsibility, motherfucker!
Photos.com
Now hand over the heroin, bitch!
Nope. It turns out that to a business, a customer with no credit is like a girl giving you the silent treatment -- they assume something is wrong.
And everybody checks your credit -- if I want to get Direct TV, I have to pay $310 worth of startup fees (the size of your up-front payments/deposits depends on your credit history). Utilities are even more -- which means trying to move to a new place costs hundreds of dollars in deposits (remember the $150 to get my gas turned on). If I need a new car, well, let's just say I need to show up at the dealership with a shoebox full of cash.
Photos.com
The last two kids I bought on the black market virtually wiped out my life savings.
So repairing credit means opening accounts (having a cell phone plan is a good one, having your utilities in your own name -- as opposed to the landlord's -- is another) and, you know, making sure to pay your fucking bills on time. And don't bother trying to shortcut the system by saving the shoebox full of cash, getting a loan, then paying it all off the next month. Length of credit is part of your credit score. They want to know your ability to make steady, long term payments without missing a month or being late.

Did U.S. 'Frame' Strauss-Kahn Over to IMF Economic Forecasts?: Huanqiu, People's Republic of China

Could it be that the U.S. 'framed' Dominique Strauss-Kahn because of IMF forecasts of U.S. economic frailty and Chinese strength? According to this analysis from state-controlled 'Huanqiu', 'it is reasonable to infer' that statistics released while DSK ran the IMF, showing U.S. dollar weakness and forecasting how China's economy would surpass America's by 2016, drove Washington to 'throw' DSK into a U.S. prison.
http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=704529743#!/pages/WorldMeetsUS/70658265821

People who are talking about the economic demise of the US also seem to forget the the world wide economic development has been based upon US borrowing and spending, the day US stops borrowing and or printing money the economic development ...and the China prosperity will also die, so the dollar can only fall if the world it sell decides to commit an economic suicide. that will happen soon though when we decide that we can not continue on the path of destroying the nature in the name of development to the point that the life it self is threatened, then everyone will know that I was right all along

I know many of us agree with you about the destruction of the planet's environment.

But what do you think about Beijing's conspiracy theory about the U.S. framing DSK?
...
-- William Kern

For one, I don't believe it is a frame up, the guy IS a pig, and they would not use a Muslim woman to pull this off, dollar's decline is not a secret, but the alternatives are not great is my point, I have said much more on my blog. Framin...g DSK just because he was going to bad mouth the dollar is not a good enough reason, or we would have to black mail a whole lot more people who are talking the dollar down, the problem is of our own creation though. There is, however, something else afoot. Like I mentioned the economic development of the world has been based on consumption and on creating money from thin air, that model is failing. what is the next shoe and where it will drop? one solution may be a total worldwide economic collapse followed by the new world order which will dictate everything from who you marry to who can have children and who gets to eat, it is all there, in http://tombstone001.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html "A case for population control"
http://truthout.org/defaulting-us-debt-dangerous-even-consider-say-experts/1306594040 http://www.facebook.com/#!/permalink.php?story_fbid=197554526957425&id=83865976093

It is always amazing to see how little the average American understands about money and the economy, http://tombstone001.blogspot.com/2011/05/did-us-frame-strauss-kahn-over-to-imf.html We are actually in a position where there are few options left . A default will not only hurt the bankers, you will also not get social security/ unemployment/ welfare checks. There will be no government contractors being paid and the pensions of the government employees will disappear as well as their health care benefits will disappear, that is just for starters. And it is not just the republicans, What about the democrats and liberals who thought the money grows on trees and everyone should get a handfull for nothing

any way, I hope you are not angry, http://tombstone001.blogspot.com/2007/06/war-on-poverty.html I like to see both sides of the coin, the poor are abused her, but they are also abusing the system for their own purpose and destroyingit for many more others who are worthy and deserving of the help

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE FUTURE, part 3

We have tobacco product with a warning about their dangers to the health of the individual, then why not our entertainment come with a warning too. It could be something like, " persistent watching of this program will make you a moron, will effect your grades in school, and destroy all moral and character boundaries".

It did not have to be a conspiracy,  AND IT DID NOT HAVE TO BE PLANNED, we have volunteered our selves for this experiment, as the technology has advanced , most of us are going back and falling behind, in a time when more education is needed than ever to survive day to day, our education system is failing, when it takes to work harder to stay in place, we  are lazier when we know what it takes to remain healthy we are sicker, hen we know what it takes to live longer , we are killing ourselves.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE FUTURE, part 2

It sickens me to think where we are headed, yet most of us have no clue, no desire even to know, the goats, waiting for the day of the slaughter, while they play in the pasture and constantly try to hump each other.

Yet you see the stock market rising and the dollar trying to rally each day, as if, as if,  as if the tomorrow will never come. And someone does predict that the world will end tomorrow and no one cares. I do not believe that the world will end tomorrow, but the future of course has ended already, like Nero we play the fiddle.

It has been my contention, (one of the reasons I got away from the practice of  Psychology is that I have no empathy for the stupid,  the other being that a lot of the people practicing psychology are stupid in my estimation) that if you watch much of TV  you adopt the morals and mores of the shows you are watching, you try to become like the people on the shows that you watch, children and grown ups alike are influenced by their favorite shows. The psychologists should have caught on to this, no so subliminal programming of the masses but they have kept quiet and committed malpractice en masse.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE FUTURE

05/18/2011

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE FUTURE

I know you are busy and have no time to read this but pray give it a few minutes.

I have been raising goats for the past few months and they have taught me a lot about people in the short few months I have been with them.  I dive my truck to the small piece of land and no matter where they are they all run full speed over, knowing it is time to eat, the little ones even crawl under the truck, I guess they  think of the truck is something like their own mothers, I have to yank them out physically when it is time to leave, they also follow me around before feeding  knowing I am one of the sources of food. Just like people they only want to eat sleep and fuck, even the babies are always trying to hump, so near humans they are.

But I digress,  we are the most advanced, the most civilized nation in the world we claim, my own tantrums about the Osama murder not withstanding, but everyday the evidence of the police abuse around the country mounts and we laud our freedoms.

What does matter today in America? Our country is broke, our fiscal policies are ruinous, our families are broke and ruined, our homes are broken, thousands are losing jobs and homes everyday yet, we slog along, still hiding under the "truck" of  government and politicians as if they are "god" or at least our mothers that will feed us even though the truck is heartless and mindless and can only run us over.

Have you lived in a third world country? Well you are now, our politicians play for the rich and our police are not to protect and to serve, they are here to take your money and keep you down only, welcome to the real north Mexico.

Whether you are a lefty or a right winger, we are  all fatted calves being taken to the slaughter. Media mouths propagating stupidity, and we follow.  We are sheep, and no one tells us the real truth till they take out the sharp knife to slit our throat.

THE STRANGE CASE OF MORAL MURDERING, chapter 2

05/14/2011

THE STRANGE CASE OF MORAL MURDERING, chapter 2

If you have not read chapter 1, then it is here.

Can you imagine that Obama is a liar, that our government is capable of not only lying but lies consistently,  and that it is not only Obama, but the whole mess is made up of liars, not not since Obama took over but since many years before.

I am not bringing up something new, if you are aware, if you had your eyes open for the past few , or even many,  years you would have noticed that the government lies all the time, everyday and about everything. For the past five years I have been dong my best to make you aware of these lies, look back and see what you were being told and what I said and you will see how often I was right and ahead of time. I am not bragging, I don't want compensation , not even recognition, I just want you to know and to be aware of where the world is heading, so you can make an intelligent choice as to where you want to be.What is sad though that many of you have already made up your mind by not making up your mind and remaining ignorant, no not all, but many.

It is my pet peeve, that whenever I use we, or us, many people take it to be personal, but we/ us are the society, we are all one or we are nothing, so if you  do not do something or another when a majority is doing it then it effects you  the same as if you  were doing it yourself, if you are sitting in a room full of dope smokers, you  will get high whether you inhale or you don't.

If a majority of the people in our society are cheating in their relationships, then your relationship with your spouse is effected by lack of trust or at least a doubt, whether you cheat or not, and what if your partner decides to cheat because they think it is ok, then you are effected, if many are obese you may not think yourself fat even when you could lose twenty pounds and so on, don't get your thong in a knot, you are us.

While our elite leaders, the big brothers are so worried about us being safe that they can not take away enough of our freedoms and privacy, just in case, they steal our emails and listen to our phone conversation and fondle lil girls and boys on our behalf. But they can not provide us jobs and food and shelter though.

DOES ANY ONE UNDERSTAND THAT WE WILL LOSE SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE NOT BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY, BUT BECAUSE WE MOVED OUR GOOD PAYING JOBS OVER SEAS AND THAT WE DO NOT PAY OUR WORKERS ENOUGH WHICH KEEPS OUR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THESE FUNDS LOWER THAN IT NEEDS BE.

It is not new with me you know, I have been talking about justice and freedom for a long time and I have questioned the hypocrisy of our government for a long long time,  it is not about murdering Osama at all, it is about honesty and justice and the America's dignity and her place in this world.

and then this,

Torture is Never Legal and Didn't Lead Us to Bin Laden
I do not make my accusation of Obama being a liar lightly, but consider the record, from closing Guantanamo, to ending the war in Afghanistan, from respect for human rights in the US itself, to opening the government up more to the illegal wiretaps, we were sold a bill of goods, not a single promise has been kept, if anything we are worse off than we ever were under W, and I don't say that just to make a point, it is the facts.

Then there is the point of talking about Osama bin Laden possessing porn,

Osama bin NAUGHTY -- Porn Found In Hideout

5/13/2011 10:25 AM PDT by TMZ Staff

Does it even matter? or is ti more sensationalizing the murder of a public enemy. Does it make his murder without a trial more palatable? May be even a public lynching may have been called for. Sickeningly, it makes him more like us, makes him just a bit more human than some holy/ insane person,  makes him almost normal.  How low though can we go as a nation, is it even material, and I don't say that as a fan as Osama, or as a Muslim, or that I have any doubt whatsoever that Osama may have liked watching porn, it is just so damn low, and how does it justify our murdering him for what ever reason?

may be now you would understand why I am so against lowering the culture bar, we must have a standard for the community, you can even call it a moral boundaries that must not be crossed, if we have fourteen year olds having babies and 12 year olds have there vaginas waxed then we will go on looking for the bottom still, we must stop saggy pants and exposed cleavages and shorts with bare butts first or there will be no bottom.

THE STRANGE CASE OF MORAL MURDERING

05/09/2011

THE STRANGE CASE OF MORAL MURDERING

So it is that Osama bin Laden was killed. It could even be true, any way let's pretend that we believe everything we are told and we believe it happened exactly the way they say it happened. Let's not argue the point that even the president and his advisers, that the president and his spokesperson, the president and his generals have differing scenarios of what was really going on, that even the navy seals in that room saw different things happen at the same time, we are Americans and we believe the reality shows to be real, and it is easier just to accept everything at the face value without question, so we can go back to our daily lives full of stuff.

US closes Pakistani embassies

For all it is worth, the US government is trying to get as much milage as it can of the incident, while questions remain of the whole situation we are trying to gain some advantage. First of the US declared that the operation was carried out with "great assistance" from our partner in "war on terrorism" the Pakistanis.
Earlier I had talked about the conflicting stories surrounding the murder( IF) of Osama bin Laden

Early on the President said that we had cooperation from Pakistan, that later turned in to, "Elements in Pakistan were hiding Osama", this is a lie on both accounts. What the government and the media left out was that the Pakistani ISI chief was in the US just weeks prior and possibly hand delivered Osama to the US, and the second that the US could not have carried out the raid without anyone in Pakistan being alert enough to call 911 and have the compound checked out. The bottom line is this that the two sides are lying to cover their ass or to continue the charade.

If there is/ was any doubt, we live in a culture of lies, it is hard to believe either the Pakistani side or the US side of the story without any caveats. It boggles the mind that the operation could have gone on for 45 minutes or more without any one on the ground in Pakistan becoming alerted or suspicious, with out any reaction from the Pakistan forces or even just the local police. But then it is no more ridiculous than the the story of 9/11 itself where we did not call a national emergency, did not scramble our air defenses, and even the defense secretary, and the CIA chief and the FBI chief both not only kept their jobs but were also awarded medal of freedom for service to the United States.

Lies and Mysteries Surrounding Bin Laden’s Death

WHAT DO WE STAND FOR ANY WAY

I would really like to believe that Obama is telling the truth, I would also like to believe that Pakistan is telling the truth, but both truths are mutually exclusive. I would like to believe that Obama is telling the truth, but you and I know that he can not, I would also like to believe that Zardari is telling the truth, but he won't he is a fucking liar and a thieve, but he is a friend of the United States and thereby a friend of Obama, or at least Petraeus, or Gates may be? Or are we dealing with a known crook, what does that say about our morals? and character?

You know I question people's moral  proclamations always, more so of the politicians and the media people, journalism today being at its low ebb, with people looking for more and more entertainment from their news, thus the circus about the pictures of Osama, inquiring minds want to know more, and the media are more than happy to oblige, pushing the government lines because it makes us happy because it makes us strong and superior to the low life Osama and we got him didn't we?

You might consider me old fashioned, or like my own  children you may also think of me as out of touch. To me the words such as say, morals, justice, peace, honor, honesty, fairness and truth are real constructs with real meanings that can not be changed to suit one's purpose and according to time.

Of course when someone assumes  the office of the President of the United States, we assume that person to be holding these values, and if not we are disappointed, like was the case with Nixon and then Clinton too, and the rest in between.

The cost of bin Laden: $3 trillion over 15 years - Yahoo! News
http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_exclusive/20110506/pl_yblog_exclusive/the-cost-of-bin-laden-3-trillion-over-15-year  =======================================================

Every once in a while there is a story that requires suspension of disbelief, and here is one of those. Well not really, may be.

Think what you will about the 9/11, it happened the way the government says it did or it did not. Is Osama bin Laden dead or not, was he even real or not,  whatever the case you and I know that we have gone broke fighting terrorism and that is a fact.

Did 9/11 cause us to spend all this money, and if so was it even necessary?  Here we are ten years after 9/11 still talking about the terrorist and Osama, here are a few random thoughts on the subject first

Freedom may not be free, but being the international bully costs a lot more
On the school grounds or the factory floor, even in Basic Training, ones who perceive themselves stronger and meaner become the bullies.
A million dollars for the hovel, no decent food, no armed guards, no surveillance system, no traps, no alarms, are you blowing smoke up my ass again?
A drone strike in Yemen, invading sovereign nations, bombing the son of Ghadaffi, siding with oppressors that we like, torturing "suspects" at whim, at what fucking point, "we are not at war with Islam", lose its meaning?
If Osama Bin Laden could run a world wide terror network without a phone, the internet a fax machine or even a bank account, then at least we need not give an office expense deduction to the corporations, and no personal jets and blonde secretaries.
Should we forget that we trained Osama to fight our war against the Russians, or that we financed his terrorist network to begin with? Have we learnt anything from this experience? We are still supporting the rapists and muderers and the child molesters the world over, so all this fighting the terrorists rings hollow, the point here is that we want to control the world and its resources and that has a cost.

In my 2003 dissertation, A New World Order, 2003, I proposed that we pay fair prices for the commodities and for the labor that we use from the foreigners and supporting murderous regimes, that we have not yet changed so how are we complaining about the terrorism and pretend to eliminate it when we do not eliminate the biggest cause of its existence.

Are we so short sighted or just plain stupid to think that as the Arabs have risen against our patsies from West to the East, the revolt will stay limited to the Arab countries and the workers in Korea and Philippines and Brazil and Argentina and Mexico and elsewhere are to remain blind to their own misery?

Will we call them the terrorists?  We know that Osama was against the Saudi regime, and the Western culture and such, but can we say that if he was not a Muslim or was born in a different culture or religion he would not have risen against injustice? Or the thirst for freedom and a hankering for justice is only a problem for the Muslims?

Did we really need to invade Afghanistan? may be, Iraq? may be? Pakistan ? may be, then what, pretty soon we will have our hands putting out so many fires that we won't be able to cover our own ass.Did Osama think he was going to  make us broke that we will deny health care to the elderly or food and education for our children, was he a Republican you mean?Or was he telling George Bush to cut taxes in the middle of the wars and a security disaster, did he make Bush give medals of freedom to those on whose watch 9/11 happened.

It cost us three trillion dollars because we kept friends with those who brutalized and are still brutalizing their own populations. Mat be terrorism would not have ended if we had changed our  policy of keep our favorite thieves and rapists in power to do our bidding, it would have been worth a try.

It is a sad commentary on  our collective state of mind, and on our leadership that we do not wish to treat other peoples with respect and decency, that we wish to not make friends but scare the world with our military might, that we pay lip service to freedom and human rights and we keep people in cages and assassinate some for the fear that our deeds might be exposed for the world at large to see,

I DON'T CARE ANYMORE VI

05/05/2011

I DON'T CARE ANYMORE VI

So it is, Osama died last Sunday, yes or no, and I said "SO WHAT" nothing changed and nothing has. He was old story, unless of course you had lost a loved one on 9/11and were seeking justice, here is a bit of comfort in knowing that the one who caused you pain is gone too.

For most Americans, the reality show crowd, I wonder if they even remembered 9/11. The life may have changed for the people directly impacted by 9/11 but most of the nation has moved on. I saw the crowds gathering at the White House first and wondered if some of them were from Belvoir, or Myers, Quantico or Aberdeen or many of the other places near by, brought in to get the party started.

Yes I am cynical, damn it,  I have been watching the parade of the charades too long, so long that I question reality, let alone some make believe BS. No sooner that the story came out the story started to change, no one seemed to know the truth, not even Obama got it right, but as expected the nation of sheep forgot everything soon as it learned of it. We are moving on, we have moved on.

He was armed, he was not armed, he used a women as a human shield, he did not,  The White house was watching the operation live, there was a twenty five minute black out ( that is probably when he was killed and the Obama and company did not watch the whole show ( the murder).

Long ago, I had theorized that the US did not want to capture Osama because it will cause too many problems. To bring in Osama alive and to try him in an open court will expose all the under handed dealings with him, why air the dirty laundry, so he was killed, human rights or not.

There are how ever two points one must understand and the consequences of these,

Right after the Iraqi occupation I had written that the Muslims in their countries will not be able to trust any American and the Americans will suffer as a result of it, well sorry, the Muslims do keep trusting the Americans and as a consequence we had the Raymond Davis incident, and that one may just be the tip of the iceberg, now it comes out that the CIA was in Abbotabad for a year monitoring Osama, so there, are the Muslims supposed to keep allowing the US to make a fool of them?

The second point is this, the US is accusing the Pakistani agencies of  incompetence and or collusion with Osama, now if the Pakistanis were really competent and on the ball, how long would have Davis stayed in Pakistan doing  whatever he was doing , and how would the CIA have maintained an observation post in Abbotabad without being found out, some is full of you know what.

Yahoo! News Story - U.N. rights boss asks U.S. for facts on bin Laden killing - Yahoo! News

Personal message:
the fable has to continue, it is the new thousand and one nights'
we did not want to arrest Bin Laden alive, there would have been a mess if had put him on trial in an open court, he might have even told the truth
Why is the UN interested now, today, Israel has been killing people overseas for how many years?? Or have they watched the movie, " Munich"
human rights is an oxymoron in our language

Obama: Al-Qaida head bin Laden dead

Obama: Al-Qaida head bin Laden dead

this will destabilize the Pakistan government that we are saying that we are friends with. The president emphasized that we had help from the Pakistan elements, is that on purpose? Does Pakistan become the new front? Osama is just a name that you know, there are probably thousands out there now who will try to do something untowards whether here or somewhere else, many have used the name of Alquieda for the convenience of the public being familiar with the name, the death of Osama does not change things for the better. Whatever one may believe, we will be less secure in the short order
