WAR ON POVERTY
I have read your editorial (28 May 2007) and the comments by Mr. Douglas Hubbard (letters 4 Jun 2007). On my blog, “tombstone001.blogspot.com” I have discussed the poverty, the globalization and the new world order at length for the past few years, here are a few other items to consider in the light of the so called “The New World Order”.
(Please also read “ Death for America, the economy” and the “New World Order, 2003” else where in this blog for more discussion of this topic)
Give or take a few hundred million, today the earth is inhabited by about six and a half billion people. That is estimated to be as many people as have ever inhabited this planet over the millennia since its existence. With the technology, and medicine people are living healthier and longer lives, there are probably more millionaires, per capita than ever, we have bigger houses, more cars, more airplanes, etc, etc. In sheer numbers though we also have more poor, more starvation and more people who are sicker than ever at any one time in our history.
Whether you are a fan of global warming or not, that is a totally different issue, there are other consequences of this population boom that do not bode well for our future, that is the future of the mankind as a whole. I wish that the global warming was the only threat to our future. And any way there are arguments on both sides of the issue. But we have a bigger problem, a problem that no one seems to want to confront, in the United States or the world wide, the problem is population. Left unchecked we can not be certain as to what the future of humanity will be, there are no guarantees. As the globalist plan for a future where the world is being controlled by a chosen few, we seem to forget the admonition of the scriptures that, “ the meek shall inherit the earth”, so then what do we do if the meek do end up inheriting the earth?
Even as we claim that we need more people to take care of the elderly, we need more people to pay taxes, we claim that more people today live in freedom than ever, the only true truth is that we don’t give a damn about the poor and their miserable lives, we don’t give a damn about poverty, the humanity. We are the verge of having to make the euthanasia a matter of policy, as well as genetic selections and population controls because in truth the “money” does not matter any more, there is no “real money”!
If your are reading this, then you are on a computer, meaning that you are probably in the top twenty percent of population of the world in availability of the resources. Be you a liberal or a conservative, a Christian, a Muslim, a Jew, Hindu, Buddhist or an atheist, you don’t have a genuine feeling about the poor and their misery. We believe in our own lies, and pretend to be sympathetic, we talk about adopting the poor children, we talk about the sanctity of life, we pretend that abortion is sinful, we proclaim that we have programs for the poor, and I say we are all full of --it. Generally speaking, there are not too many people in this world who even have a clue about the problems faced by the humanity, let alone the enormity of these problems that will not be resolved. And if you say that “GOD” will take care of everything. Then let me tell you that “HE” is not going to.
The truth of the matter is, and we know, that poor kids are more likely to grow up poor, poor are more apt to commit crimes, get involved in drugs and prostitution, more likely to make babies that ill forever live in poverty.
Our hypocrisy is self evident, or why else do we rush our plants and our factories and other jobs to the poor lands? Is it to bring up the lot of these poor up in life, heck no, we just want to pay less and less to the poor to do the things that we need to get done. We need a cheaper car, a cheaper TV etc, then why not have a poorer sob make it in a far away land so that we don’t have to pay a poor sob here a living wage, and still feel good about it, while we destroy his environment, his traditions and his family. Oh yes we do pay them a wage marginally above the prevailing wage in his country so he can buy more and make the rest poorer by raising the price of goods.
The religious will argue that it is God’s will that they should be poor. And some liberal will argue that at least we do help some of them out of poverty, but the negative effects of our moving jobs overseas out weigh any benefits to the people over there and the people that make a living in this country.
Is it not a fact that as the poverty increases so does the crime and the sickness and all the other ills of society? Such as child abuse, domestic violence, theft, prostitution, assault, and of course class distinction, and yes civil wars, you name it. A society where people live in moderately equal status and where the greed has not yet taken over the minds of the elite does not fall into chaos, regardless of their religious and political beliefs. This is also something that the upper classes in India and China and Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and yes in the United States must keep in mind.
But, for long we have used the poor to generate “jobs” right. As the poverty increases, there is more need for social workers, jailers, police officers, and the courts and the lawyers and the judges, the doctors and we could go on. Even the programs created to help the poor actually spend more money on people in “ helping professions” than is spent on the needy.
The first salvo in our new class wars was not lobbed by John Edwards, our esteemed President Reagan was the first one to try to dehumanize the poor and pan the working classes. Reagan was a sell out, starting from modest beginnings he became anti poor and anti working class when he came in to the Hollywood money a forgot his roots.
We as humans are programmed to forget about the things we don’t see, when we see an eighty year old when we are forty, we tell ourselves oh, I have another forty years to live, always forgetting the ones that we bury each day, the ones that die in their teens and twenties. We all are always thinking about seeing our grand children, forgetting about those next door that just buried their own child. When Reagan gave the example of the welfare ladies in their Cadillac’s buying steaks, he did not mention the more than ninety percent of the food stamp recipients that really need the help to feed their children.
In our new found wealth, we forget the needs of others, we think that poor are stupid, lazy and a burden on society, and this mind set is becoming pervasive among the upper classes from India and China, the Islamic Countries, to the United States and Mexico.
The United States used to be held up as a model of the “NEW SOCIETY“, where the success was rewarded handsomely, any one could make it, and you got to keep more of your money because of lower taxes. But today that is no longer true. As it has become easier for a few to become millionaires and multi multi-millionaires, it must be acknowledged that it makes the others only poorer. We have arrived at a time when being “average” has become being less than adequate, where it takes to be arriving in the top tenth percentile to be able to make ends meet.
Let’s look at something, Ok so we are all for a free market, right, and the poor and the working should be able to meet their own needs. I agree. If you listen to the mouth pieces of the right say Neil Boortz, Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh etc ( the three stooges of the Republican Party), they will tell you that the poor are poor because they are stupid, now tell me this, let’s say that a person has just graduated from a high school and went to trade school to learn to be a mechanic, he is punctual and a hard worker and he goes to work for an auto motive dealership in say New York city. The dealer pays him by the schedule hours for maintenance and he must pay for his own life insurance, health insurance, health care savings account, save for his retirement, contribute to his 401k, and pay for his mortgage on a house ( can he really buy a house?), make a car payment and save for his children’s college, now tell me what he should be paid. But we live in a service economy right, say he becomes and assistant manager at a Burger King , now how much will you pay him? Sadly the stupid people that run these shows are themselves not capable of thinking.
If this is the situation in the United States, and the number of workers keeps increasing as it does elsewhere in the world, ( and what to make of the immigrants coming in from Mexico) the down ward pressure on the wages will keep increasing. Or we must admit that we need these poor to keep the jails filled, to run the drug trade, to keep the prostitution going, to employ the social workers, and the lawyers and the police in their own jobs, and of course we need the volunteers for the military.
And I also agree that there is too much spending on welfare programs, and we pay too much in taxes to support the poor who are stupid and that they are poor because they chose to be poor so what is the solution?
Under our current system we pay the poor for being stupid, actually, if a girl gets pregnant we offer her “free” medical care , “free” child care, “free” education, and “free” meals. We can then just go ahead and admit that we are using her to keep the people in the “ helping Professions” employed, that we are helping unscrupulous land lords in money, we are making millionaires out of developers of the subsidized housing, we need our criminals and the gangsters and the prostitutes, and so on.
Or we can start paying every young girl from the age of , say thirteen a stipend, of say three hundred dollars a month for as long as she does not get pregnant, if she gets pregnant the money goes away, immediately. This will also be an incentive to her guardians to either watch over her or get her on contraceptives to keep the money (help) coming. Also if she stays in school all her education will be paid for even thru college, she can keep her stipend even after the college until she has a child at what ever age that might be. Only thing is that a, the stipend should be large enough to mean something and b, that all help must cease once she gets pregnant, this will also keep the boys from knocking her up for the stamps.
This idea could even be implemented world wide.

meaning of words
2. If you are out looking for sex, rest assured your daughter/son is finding it at home, on her /his own
3. if you are thirty-five and bring a boy friend to your home, your fifteen year old will screw her boyfriend in your home
4. if you are a "daddy" and you are out looking for a younger slut, then you have one at your home already, yeah the one that you raised
5. if you have no boundries, morals, standards, "because I am (number of years) old", then your children have none also, regardless of their age
6. If you know for sure that your fifteen year old son is having sex and you are allowing it, then rest assured that your 12 year old daughter will soon, also, be getting fucked

EYES WIDE SHUT III
Life is a game of connect-a-dot, if you don’t connect all the dots, then you are missing the point.
We, the humans, have developed societies over the thousands of years of evolution. As we have evolved, the societies have become more and more complex. But the fact remains that all the aspects of our societies remain inter related.
Laws, norms, boundaries, religion even God himself were created to set the limits of acceptable human behavior. So what happens when we want the world wide society to become a consumer society and to set aside the limits that we have created over the millennia to keep the mankind going and to flourish.
Why is it then that even with all the technological and scientific advances the future of mankind seems more bleak than ever, why we are still waiting for a knight in shining armor, a messiah if you will, to show up and save us from our own selves. Why is it that more and more people are waiting for, and look forward to, the end of times? Haven’t we learnt anything?
A God, A Messiah or even a knight on white steed is not coming, nope, it is up to us, the humans, to look out for our own selves and our future. And what our future will be can be easily discerned from our actions today. Prophets and visionaries were no more than people who thought long and hard about the future and “saw” what the end of the world would be like if the people did not change their ways. The end of times has been predicted for thousands of years and the only reason we have avoided this end is that for while we DID change our manner of doing things. Today as people of religion predict the end of times, and others that espouse the conspiracy theories are united in only this cone conclusion that things can not go on the way they are going without massive consequences for us that are living now and for the future.
Some thing is wrong, many things are wrong in the ways that we do things today, but the people do not want to know, and the leaders are happy not to tell.
A thousand years ago God would have sent prophets to warn us, to day we may just get another Stalin, or Mao or even a new Saddam to tell us what to do when to do it, how to sit up and how to get down since mankind with all the new freedoms, all the new prosperities and education and sciences want to act stupid and irresponsible.
It hard for people to see, for instance that
The Iraq war is boosting the American economy, it may have even been started to keep the United States out of a severe recession
That buying stuff made in China increases the price of gas
That increased trade with India is also the cause of increase in the numbers of teen age prostitutes there
That more we pay per barrel of oil the more the Islamic terrorism is increased
That in a society, the more the standard of living for some increases, the more the poor are made poorer (we live in a global society today so you may not see the poverty increase in your own neighborhood, but is coming)
And now for some real good ones
When the mother/father of a young daughter is dating, the daughter will soon lose her virginity
If a man is making out with you in front of your daughter, he will also make out with your daughter
If your relationship is solely based on sex, you are fucked
If you married a slut, he /she is still a slut after marriage
Consumerism and morality can not co exist
More than anything else, Disney/ ABC and Universal / Nickelodeon promote ignorance, dislike of education, abuse and disrespect for parents and teachers, early sexuality and child pornography

immigration
The United States congress has passed a draft agreement in the matter of the so called immigration reform.
This bill is a Trojan horse, as I have said before, for years that the plan is to make the USA and Mexico one country, once these people are legalized and are able to bring in their relatives, the Mexican -American electoral power will be such that no politician will be able to oppose them, and the Mexican Americans will be able to make laws doing away with the borders and that will be that.
Those of you who have not read my letters to the president, copied here previously, should know that in March 2005 I was interviewed on our local talk radio, on the “Talk of the Wiregrass”. On that show I stated that “the United States and Mexico are practically one country, the borders are there only to keep the fools thinking otherwise. With this new amnesty ”Immigration reform bill” my statement is more true than ever. Only thing that the president and the congress need to do now is to tell the American public as to let us know when we MUST start taking the Spanish in school, as a part of no child left behind, since we will need to learn Spanish to get any new job where we have to deal with public.
In any case, legalizing more than ten million Mexicans already here, and then allowing them to bring in their relatives, will in short order turn half the Mexican population in to US nationals, then why would you need a border or border controls to keep the other half out?
What will that do to the living standards of the poor who will have new competition for the jobs? What about the laws against rape which is mostly never prosecuted in Mexico? What about incest that is not a crime there, or almost, would you have a third of the population under different laws and standards? Or will this new population will force the laws to be changed? They surely will have the numbers to politically make these changes? Will schools all over the country start teaching Spanish or will we have a dual school system one for English and one for Spanish. This all not as cute as “Born in the East LA”.

Stop Anti-Peace Moves, Olmert Told
| "Abdul Jalil Mustafa, Arab News |
| AMMAN, 16 May 2007 — Jordan’s King Abdallah met yesterday with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and urged him to end measures that jeopardize peace in the region. In talks in the ancient city of Petra, the king cited the building of settlements and excavations at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque compound as some of the irritants that came in the way of building lasting peace, an official royal court statement said. The meeting took place on the sidelines of a conference of Nobel laureates. Referring to reports that Israel was planning the construction of 20,000 housing units in Jerusalem, the king said that “Jordan rejects such measures because they represent a flagrant violation of the rights of Palestinians and Arabs in the holy city and will not help efforts to push the peace process forward”." |
It is ironic that the king Abdullah of Jordan advises the Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to stop interefering with the peace process, where is there that peace in the Middle East, what are Palestinians doing in the "Free Zones"? I would say that the Palestinians in the occupied areas are more free and safe as opposed to the ones in the ares controlled by the Hamas and the Al-Fateh. I know sometimes the truth is bitter, but unless and until the Muslims around the world and the muslims that run this publication are willing to face the truth, and the whole truth, unless the Muslims are able to stand up for the "truth and justice for all", they will keep getting their butts kicked. Right now there is no peace in Algeria, in Sudan, in Iraq, in Pakistan, in Afghanistan and among the Palestinians themselves. The last peace agreement among the Palestinians has broken down in less than two months. In this light the request of the king is laughable, and the king and Olmert both know this

EYES WIDE SHUT II
EYES WIDE SHUT II
Once again the humanity has problems that are being ignored, and not because the solutions are not there, but that we don’t want a discussion of these for that the solutions are not acceptable. Like the environment ( air, rivers, oceans and the land) being poisoned by the use of the chemicals, like free trade being a major contributor to the green house gases, like “run away consumption” society causing more and more pollution and waste.
Sadly enough as we achieve major break through’ in science and technology the fewer the number of people that we can really benefit from these. As we transition form say glass tube TVs to plasma and LCD the number of people able to buy the new system is reduced. Not everyone can afford to go out and buy the top of the line computer every six months, even though some do. People in the poorer nations keep falling behind in access to the top of the line technologies( as a percent of the aggregate).
Those of us living in the countries with “money”, real as in the oil rich nations or say China or Japan are affected to a lesser extent than the people and even the governments of the poorer nations.
The worst is the situation in this regards as it applies to the field of medicine. Where as we in the advanced nations have the luxury to worry about our sexual performances, people and especially children have to worry about access to clean water, basic hygiene and immunizations against the childhood diseases.
But pardon me, I am not here talking about the vast inequities of health care between the poor and the rich nations. The problem is how to provide, equal and quality, healthcare for all in a free market economy. In a perfect world we would all be taken care of, health wise , from cradle to the grave but we do not live in a perfect world.
Healthcare with the insurance plans, or health care with the government as a sole provider is above all rife with corruption and over charges and restrictions and gimmicks and scams. It is by its own nature, a competition to see who can beat whom out of most of their money. It is full of over charges, wasteful procedures and medications, as long as someone has money in their pocket the rest will try to take it from them. First the insurance company wants to make money by cutting down on care, the doctors and the hospitals are in struggle for their lives to see how they can get more money from the insurance company or Medicare/ Medicaid or whatever other till with money in it. Insurance companies in turn raise the premiums and the doctors and the hospitals in turn raise their fees, and so on it will go till everyone is broke.
Let us then realize that the government and the doctors and the insurance companies and the politicians (Democrats and Republicans), they are all lying to us. Well, because they know that we are stupid.
There are among the conservatives who think that everyone should buy their own insurance and we know that they are all full of sh**. As I told you when I talked about the money and the economy, that how much a person must make in hourly wages so he/she can buy their own health insurance and save for their own retirement and for their children’s education, (I guess it would be like eighty dollars per hour? J/k). Liberals on the other hand tell us don’t worry the government should pay for all health care and that they will tax the rich, they also equally full of **it. The reality is that we don’t, no one and no government has the money to pay for all the healthcare for everyone in all situations. And now what you don’t want to hear, THE HEALTH CARE SHOULD BE, IT MUST BE RATIONED.
Right now, Liberals and Conservatives, Republicans and the Democrats all tell you that they are looking out for our best interests in the healthcare, they are all lying. If the idea of the Democrats is that the government can tax the rich to pay for everyone’s health care, they know, they must know that that would be impossible, we can not tax the rich or the otherwise enough to provide everything available in medicine for everyone in need. The Republicans lie that it is possible for everyone to buy their own insurance, even thru their employers. The premium cost of a full coverage policy for everyone will be prohibitive. Also when we establish laws so that a hospital must provide care for the indigent the cost of medicine rises the most for those that can ill afford it for themselves in the first place. Why should the working poor and the middle class have to bare the same cost of providing care for those who can not afford to pay for it.
We know, in general the poor are also less healthy, they smoke, they spend food monies on alcohol and tobacco, they eat greasy foods and exercise less, and receive less preventive health care. As a result they get sicker and are prone to chronic diseases that are costly to treat.
We also know that the do gooders on the left and on the right want everyone to live for ever, but there are difference, but the total net result of their ideas is that the country will be broke in short order. If the liberals want to preserve the abortion right and euthanasia ( great ideas that can save money , honestly), they also want everything for the disabled from cradle to grave, from special education classes for one suffering from cerebral palsy, to equal access to everything for the mentally retarded and the crazies, a heart or kidney transplant for someone on the death row, it matters not whose money. On the other hand the conservatives who want to ban abortions, would have the patients with cerebral palsy and brain damage kept alive indefinitely, but at whose expense? They have no clue so long as they don’t have to pay taxes. Both the Liberals and the conservatives are always willing to differ payments for all expenses to someone else, to a pie in the sky account in the future when the money will be growing in the trees. The truth is that as a nation, we are always willing to burn our house down to keep our hands warm.
Being ethical and moral is easy when it is not your own money, I guess. But with the healthcare today, and with the technologies that we have each one of us could easily become a six million dollar man, or a woman, for you politically correct ones. Do we really need to spend millions taking care of Terry Schiavo’, or people laying in the nursing homes, half dead and unaware? or force people to have babies they don’t really want, only to provide jobs for the social workers and the police and the nurses. Whatever happened to the common sense?
As I mentioned about the corruption, the doctors, who are partners in various hospitals and MRI and X-ray and lab corporations are not beyond requiring multiple tests and procedure. The patients and their relatives who think everyone must live forever want every possible and improbable effort to be made to “save” the patient (of course the insurance or the Medicare or the Medicaid will foot the bill). Insurance companies wanting to deny charges for procedures that may be sometimes absolutely needed for proper care, and raising premiums much as possible, they all contribute to the rise in healthcare.
The drug companies are also guilty, so long as people believe that being with the Lord is not all that important, that catching aids or herpes or hepatitis is not so bad, or that obesity or the heart disease can always be cured by a pill, that we need not monitor our behavior and stay healthy, the drug companies are willing to oblige. Yes we have pills for this and shots for that, but mostly unproven, drug therapy is not called by its real name, “chemo therapy”. Many of these drugs have so many side effects that one may end up sicker and require more and more medicines, but that is just extra money in the pockets of the drug companies.
But can we as a society keep footing the bill? When we don’t want higher wages, or provide employee health benefits, or to pay more in taxes. Is it not simple then to just announce that we can no longer afford to have everyone here trying to live for ever? Say if you have an alcohol problem, and a liver disease, and then you end up in a bad wreck e will just go ahead and not waste money on you? Or say if you are seventy and have high blood sugar, and have had an amputation, and then you fall in to a comma we will just have to let you move on? Like sort of a triage? Well that will be the truth soon enough.

EYES WIDE SHUT
EYES WIDE SHUT
Regardless of what else you believe, there is a great problem coming up that must concern every living human being. We all can not live on this earth together. No I am not joking, it is just not possible for the human race to survive much longer in the form and the manner that we live in. Time and again I have discussed the problems of population, but our leaders, of all nations, of all colors and creeds refuse to openly inform the people of the dangers of the demise of man kind at its own hands.
How is that we think that a world can go on where seventy percent of the population does not even have enough to eat three times a day? Where just two percent of the population owns more than fifty percent of the wealth, and just the top ten percent of the people in the world own more than ninety percent of wealth. Should there be a method of distributing this wealth more equitably? Yes, I think so. But how? From whom do we take this money and give it to who? Should we take the money from the rich countries or the rich individuals? And how it will be used to better the lives of others? And in which countries? For what kind of populations? Do we have enough money to help EVERYONE?
United Nations and its member countries are forever paying lip service to the eradication of poverty but there are no practical solutions being proposed and no one really wants to tackle the problem, thus fulfilling my longtime prophecy.
1. the world today is too complicated a place for a person of average intelligence
2. if 1 is true, then we are a point in evolution where the mankind will split along the smart and dumb intelligence line and the dumb ones will fall by the wayside
3. the world today is over populated and that many of us exist as slaves and don’t even realize this, and, that many of us are slaves by choice.
If the truth were being told, you would know that we are setting the stage for massive starvation ( look below at “the fool’s gold”). You would have been told that in the next twenty years or less the cars, as we know them, will not exist. That by the year 2050, man will be hunting man as a food to eat. But then you might turn off the TV and stop buying the crap on the super stores shelf and ask questions, and might even demand action to save the planet for your children and mine.
Take a look around you, there are no free countries, no free people. Governments are more and more in control of peoples lives, and these governments in turn are controlled, even owned by the big money. Your opportunity for a decent job, decent education and a decent future is more and more limited. Earlier I have discussed as to how one can only become rich by employing more and more people (“Death of America, the economy“), and paying them less and less for their (work) job, ( a smaller portion of the value added by one’s labor). I have talked of how Africa will be allowed to die off (The New World Order, 2003), I have talked about how local cultures are being destroyed, I have talked about how if we keep buying goods and services made by the slave like labor we will also end up being the slaves.
And we are, we do, thirty years ago in the United States if you were making a hundred thousand a year you were rich, really rich, today if you make a hundred grand you can barely pay the mortgage on a new dwelling and purchase new auto mobile. But if you work for some one today for a hundred thousand plus, you know you are working like a dog to earn it. And how do you think the ones making fifteen or twenty thousand a year are living. If you live in an industrialized country and are really proud of your standards of living, just remember soon you will be replaced by a computer, or some one somewhere who can barely speak English, but that is only for now mind you soon, real soon , you too will be out on the street scratching your ass wondering “ and I thought I had it made with my degree”. When putting you out of work is really Saving money, and you thought just buying more crap than you need at a “super center “ was IT.
If you are a doctor, you must make event the poorest pay in full for your services, because you have expense like tuition for your kids, and the club memberships, the mortgage etc. If you are an engineer you are probably designing systems to put more people out of work, or to make them more “productive”. If you are a store manager you are being made to make people hard as you can and cheat them out of overtime and to make them work part time thus without benefits. Many organizations, from the Burger King and Wal-Mart to the Subway do not like to pay over time or health benefits to anyone. An average manger today is the same as a slave driver of the biblical times.
Our leaders have for ever talked about the new consumers, new markets,
in Mexico, and in China, and India. It was twenty years ago when I protested against this lie, that is, if the people in those markets don not have any money, and if we do not pay them money ( have them earn a decent living and a generous wage) what will they buy from us, in reality we have only set up our own economy for a down fall. Today we are running up bigger and bigger trade deficits against China, and India and others. Only thing that is keeping the US economy afloat is the tremendous borrowing by the US government and the US consumers. All the while, the rich and the ultra rich (foreign and domestic) are loaning us money so they can own our futures. The situation (of our people and of our country) is no different than the situation of the share-croppers in India who end up having to sell their children to the land lord or their daughters into prostitution, just that we really do not have “A REAL NEED” to borrow money.
The president has been bragging as to how great the economy is doing, but he fails to tell us that he is spending money we do not have, that he is blowing our social security money, he claims that seventy percent of the Americans own their own homes while forgetting to mention that most of them are over their head in mortgage while the assumed real estate boom has jacked up the prices of houses and the idiots (home owners) have been borrowing against the unrealized gains in their home prices. As the decline in the real estate markets grows we could have a domino effect, causing bankruptcies for many many families. While some are advocating a housing bail out, it will only exacerbate the federal deficit problems, and sooner or later the high interest rates will have to be instituted to keep the inflation down, it will be again like back in the eighties , just worse.
Many among the believers are always waiting for the dooms day , the dooms day is at hand , but it will be nothing like in the Bible or Koran etc. We are writing the recipe for our own demise.

a reply to Varma, Hinduism and Islam
http://www.topix.com/religion/hindu/2007/04/religion-violence-islam-christianity-hinduism
To Varma and all
Varma stated
But what Hindus didn't realize yet is the fact that Adharma, lies, unjustice has come in the form of Islam and they need to do their duty of protecting the Dharma from this barbaric murderous ideology which encourages its followers to wipe out other non muslims from the face of the earth..
There is still no religion India except traditions and cultures Hinduism is a wasy of life never made by anybody...
but one thing is sure, that Isalm has been created by a sub human, pedophile, rapist, mass murderer, Mohammad, who lusts for his sons wife... Islam is not even create by a human it wa created by a sub human a pshycopath who didn't distinguis between a daughter and wife, and like a sexual maniac went after ever women in his sorrowful life
Please!
get your facts right
religions were not created by any "gods" or "GOD",
as you say there are many problems with Islamic ideology, may be, but get your facts right please, even if Mohammed had a wife that was 12 years old, do not many girls that age and much younger get married today in India, Mohammed did not have a son, so he could not have lusted after his son''s wife, In Hindu religion a wife is obligated to kill her self in her husbands funeral pyre, do you deny that, even today thousands of hindu women suffer that fate, a widow in hindu religion is worthless. The Hindu caste system is still practiced today, and there are millions of Hindus that are considered untouchables, true?
Hindu tradtion of paying a man to marry one's daughter ( dowery) is still in practice, and as seeped into the traditions of Hinsuised Islam of Indo- Pakistan, is that not a fact? Today many Hindu families can not get a suitable man to marry their daughter if the family of the girl does not have enough money, even if the girl is otherwise beautiful and smart. Hindu wives as well as Muslm wives in India and Pakistan are abused by their husbands and in- laws without any mercy or recourse this goes from beatings to burnings with fire and acid, shame! Did not the Hindu God say that the Earth rests on the horn of a cow? Need i go on?
Be honest to your self, the one who thinks of fooling others is always fooling only one's self. Religions, all religions were created by man to control the society's wayward ways, that's all,, today we just set up newer laws, God, if ther be one, does not give a damn, thank you

Islam in the modern world
May I be so bold as to tell my Islamic friends about their own faith and beliefs and their religion, and if do, as I intend to in this space, then please take is as an open minded observation of the facts and not as a criticism, or as me trying to tell you what to do.
A religion such as Islam or Christianity or Judaism is a construct, based on ideas of humanity of ancient times. For instance, Moses did not start Judaism or any other religion as a matter of fact. Moses was BORN a Jew, in to the beliefs of his fore fathers, The Torah existed before Moses came. Also Jesus Christ himself ( if there were ever one that existed) did not start a religion called Christianity or write a book nor was Jesus GIVEN a book that is called the Bible, this also is a known fact.
A study of Islam tells us how to conduct ourselves. A study of Islam also tells us that The Prophet Mohammed, as we know him was an honest man, not given to lying. We also learn that The Prophet Mohammed was basically illiterate. Does that mean that he was stupid, or had no desire to learn or was precluded from a desire to learn of the world around him? We must assume that the answer would be “NO”.
We know that the Koran does not cover all the possible questions in one’s daily life and there the Muslims refer to the biography of the Prophet, and to the Hadith to search for the answers. Thus one must assume that Prophet was not only given to receive the word from the “god” himself but that the Prophet was also a philosopher and an independent thinker. And we also must assume him to be a learner and an observer, as he lacked a formal education in the matters of the world.
We also see that the Prophet was against ignorance, as the first word of the prophecy directs him to “Read”, and the time before his prophecy is referred to as the time of darkness, thus ignorance is called “the darkness, without light”.
Then why the Muslims today are so hell bent on reverting to the time of “Jahalia”. Why is it that the educated and the uneducated alike, among the Muslims want to bring the world from the light of the knowledge to the throes of the darkness.
For one it works for the political elite to pay lip service to the basic rules of Islam, to say that they are fighting for “true Islam” while they rape and pillage their own countries and populations. Remember Idi Amin? Remember Saddam Hussain praying at Mecca after he murdered tens of thousands of his own country men and no one, not one Muslim leader religious or political stood up in the town square or at an Islamic or Arab league summit called him for what he was a tyrant, a murderer and you know why? Because it was ok long as he was killing the Sheia and the Kurds. Today’s civil war in Iraq has its roots in his bloody reign of terror.
It is not that the Prophet was lacking in smarts and common sense. That time and again he showed his reasoning ability and the knowledge acquired through observation of the peoples, circumstances and situations and had the ability to judge the consequences and reactions of both the positive and the negative actions. The Prophet was a peace maker and was able to compromise when there was a need for such. I find no record of him personally slashing or ordering the slashing of a persons throat, or ordering one be stoned to death. I am, however, positive that in his own kindness he would have found such an action abhorrent, and beneath the dignity of a “human”.
Though I agree that the so called “modern freedom” of the West, which has been translated into nothing more than crass and debasing sexuality and exploitation of the females can not continue for long without the self destruction of society, I also find the shoving back of little girls ( or even grown and naked females for that matter) into burning school building because they were not properly covered, un Islamic, in humane and stupid.
Another exhibition of the stupidity over taking the common sense is the example of the slaughter of millions of animals at the time of the Eid al Adha. Do you really believe that the God and his Prophet would have asked people to waste money on this “sacrifice” while millions of people are stuck in refugee camps after the tsunami in the far east and the earthquake in Kashmir. So where were these people the ones that give out fatwa’s at the drop of a hat? Assuredly they have no such communication with God as they would like you to believe when they issue fatwa’s for killing other human beings, surely hundreds of lives, nay thousands would have been saved by the proper use of the monies spent in the name of the same God.
Shamefully, many Muslims do not dare stand up for the right and for the justice and perform the true and honest “Jihad”. While the ignorant believe that the murder and the mayhem is the message of the religion of peace.
Tens of thousands protested the cartoons of the Holy Prophet published in a foreign land, but when the girls and women are raped by mob in Pakistan, in the name of justice no Muslim marches are called for anywhere. In Pakistan and India Muslim woman are burnt and beaten because there parents did not give them enough dowry. And I am still looking for a reference in Islam where parents must pay a man to come have sex with their daughter, oh this is not what a dowry is, you say. It is what it is, the Muslim girls parents in Pakistan and India want the best prostitute their money can buy to have sex with their daughters, and many men with degrees are only too willing to be that prostitute, you may even call him the bride groom, we call it a prostitute in English.
And speaking of prostitutes, what is this with the ladies in Islamabad taking over a brothel, if you have the time and have the energy to fight corruption then go and protest the landlords in Punjab and Sindh where they rape and abuse the women folk of the share croppers at will. And protest the suicide bombings that create more widows and orphans to be abused by the powerful. They should be protesting against the religious schools where the young boys are raped and abused by their Koran teachers and trained to kill innocent human beings.
Muslims are silent about Darfur, where Black Muslims are killed and raped and burned by the Brown Muslims while the same government is about ready to punish two women for adultery without punishing the men. Surely there must be some Muslims out there that will understand that all this does not show Islam in a favorable light.
And all of this brings me to this point, that the exploitation of the peoples be it in in the name of Islam, or in the guise of freedom, as practiced in the West today, is wrong and immoral. Since, however, I am writing here for a mostly Arab and mostly Muslim audience I will focus on the problems in Islamic society.
Hypocrisy is the ultimate form of self delusion. One must assume that everyone else is too stupid to recognize the difference between what one says and what he is doing. Having said that let me also say that the today’s Muslims from all walks of life, from all the various countries, races, colors and sects, from a poor Bangela-deshi to Mr. Indina- Benzin either do not understand Islam, the message and the meaning or just want it applied to others only.
First of all some Muslims believe that God Himself can be bribed, since many of today’s Muslim society function with bribes, or the alternate form that is conveniently referred to as commission, Muslims no longer see any problem with dealing in bribery, even with the prohibition against it in the Hadith. So it is that the people with money think that they can buy God’s goodwill and forgiveness by just giving monies to charity. So we have Muslims who drink, and fornicate and visit child prostitutes in foreign countries with impunity, all the while “knowing” that God will forgive them is they spend a few dollars on charity.
In Islam a bad deed (sin) can be off set by a good deed (i.e. charity) , thus most of the Muslims think it is ok to commit sins ( to include taking bribes, being unfair and cruel to the poor, abusing the power and authority) if you have enough money to give some of the money of it the charity or perform Al-Hajj). Now here is the problem, when the sinful Muslims give to charity, they usually end up giving money to the religious schools and the mosques that do not actually educate the poor, but teach them only the radical types of Islam, these schools are usually the places where children and sexually and physically abused and molested and beaten, and once this “education” is finished these poor are ready to do the most horrible crimes in the name of Islam. The pleas of Islam and the prophet not withstanding. TE MUSLIMS WITH MONEY ARE MAKING DAILY DOWN PAYMENTS TO GET THEIR OWN THROATS CUT.
Up until very recently history Islamic nations have generally been poor, Islamic countries did not become industrialized, and followed a agrarian, feudal system with most of the land being owned by a few. Now with the finding of oil in a few Arab lands, and foreign travel Muslims have money in a long while. Before the discovery of oil most of the oil rich countries never had any money, the Saudi’s were dependent on the charity of the visiting Muslim Hajj, and the people of the gulf countries including Kuwait survived on the subsistence fishing and diving for pearls. Today the oil rich countries do not consider the poor Islamic countries worthy, and from the Indonesian house maids to the Pakistani and Palestinian doctors and engineers are looked down upon as low brow and lower human forms.
The investment in the poorer Islamic countries by the oil rich Islamic countries has suffered also because even the best and the most educated in these countries are not too shy to cheat their own brother or to scam and steal from the same. Truth and Honesty is not the most common forte of the Muslim. Shocked?
The second problem of this newly minted rich people, be it the people with the oil money, or the people that live like slaves in the slums of oil rich countries to earn money so they can go back to their homes in India and Bangladesh and Egypt and Syria and lord over the poor, buying up land and big houses and showing off their new riches and there by making the local poor even more miserable.
The holier than thou attitude of the Muslims is so prevalent at all levels that it is close to bordering insanity, the suicide bombings being one indication, there are no questions, no doubts, with all the evident screw ups there are no Muslims to stand up and say what is wrong, and of course if a Muslim were ever to dare speak up the same Muslims, commoners and the leaders, will shut him down if not, a worse misfortune may befall him. If a culture, a regime or a people can not be criticized, then that regime and culture and the people is doomed.
An example of the middle class being quiet about the unfairness and injustice in the Islamic countries is that of Pakistan where the poor defendants are regularly beaten till they confess. Defendants are kept in filthy conditions and regularly raped ( men, women and children included), and sodomised and tortured without any recourse and without anyone complaining. More recently there are protests going on in Pakistan about the removal of the chief justice there by the president. Lawyers by the thousands are protesting against this action, but there have never been any mass protestations about the sorry state of the whole justice system. By the way the justice is similarly doled out in many Islamic countries.
One could go on and on about what has happened to the message of the Prophet, Islam today is a religion in name only, adhered to a bunch of self serving morons who are to sorry to face the truth of their own reality. There are no Islamic leaders, no Islamic preachers and there is no Islamic doctrine. Islam as a religion is used by some as means to control the poorer populations, and to oppress the women and minorities, and to abuse little kids. Islam in the twenty first century has become a message of death and destruction, used by a bunch of self serving loons who will either take it all or destroy it all. The message of oneness and cooperation and brotherhood, of honesty and equality and fairness, and sharing, of the laws and of justice is useless among a people of whom the message of God to his prophet stated, “ sumun, bukmun , umyun, fahum la yakellon”. There are no wise councils to speak, there are no ears open for righteous advice, and there ar no longer eyes that seek or see the truth. In the modern world Islam has died. Islam no longer exists.

SALVATION
Oh that
I would be dead,
saved from the gallows
by the hangman
my own executioner
and the torment continues
banished to a life
of my solitary confinement
I who consumed the word
drank at the fountain of the knowledge
lie alone under the blackened skies
looking at the vastness of this hell
punishment unrelenting
for my sin,
for the one who dared
to seek the truth,
speak of the unjust god
cruelty of mankind
how do I trust
a god of mercy
that killed his own son
the creator of evil
and hell
for my salvation

Free Speech
FREE SPEECH
In all decent and free societies, free speech is an acceptable form of expression. But it also implies that free and decent people will speak for the common good of ALL people, passing gas is not a form of free speech or of acceptable behavior, nor is nudity, public sex or public masturbation no matter how much relief it may provide oneself. It is hoped that free and decent people will keep these guidelines in minds before they unzip their fly or their mouth.
It appears then that not all people are capable of decency or a mature discourse to the benefit of the society, nor are they willing to keep a decorum and maintain the boundaries of “decency”. It also appears that the name of free expression and free speech is either misunderstood or abused, and also that we have not set any criterion as to who may use the privileges of free speech or whether there should be any restriction on the use of this privilege.
As is currently our custom, we allow just about anyone to say anything at all. I am, myself, a member of the ACLU and a big supporter of free speech, but it seems that many of the people using the privileges of this free speech thing have no clue as to what is or is not appropriate. Let’s say for example I go by the school to pick up my child and I see a pre teen girl in a tank top with something like this written on, “cheer leader” sounds innocuous enough now does it not? Of course it does, unless you are a pervert “like me” and think that cheerleader is a short way a saying a slut or an easy lay. Then come to think of it, you don’t have to be a pervert to assume this, it is culturally acceptable fact of our society is it not? We, generally think of cheer leaders of being a bit slutty and easy. Now the argument could be made in either direction, the girl has a right to wear the attire, and I have the right to assume she is being, (in this case actually being abused by her parents) innocent and does not mean anything by the saying on her attire. So O.K. What if a lady is wearing shirt saying I am the best fuck in my county, or some such saying, is she advertising for a mate? Expressing an opinion? Could we sue her for enticement to an immoral act? Can she be “raped”?
I was at the mall and walked in to a clothing store, I saw a young female child of about ten with her, what I assumed to be her grandma. The girl was dressed in what I think were extremely short cut shorts, tight to the skin, with the very small impression of what the movie “The Weather Man” called the camel’s foot. I was almost tempted to walk up to the grand ma and ask her what she was charging for the child’s services. You say “what”? Well if it is not child abuse to let a child dress like that, and it is a form of free expression then why I don’t get the right to express myself just as freely with out the fear of rapprochement.
We live in a society today where Mary covered in dung or a cross in piss and sex acts in public are considered art and a form of free expression. Then why not rape be a form of free speech, or child molesting or walking naked in the park or on the street, or how far are we from that point?
And hey, why not murder, of course it is also a form of expressing one’s self is it not?
The point I am trying to make here is, I guess, that no free speech is not unlimited, there have been, there are, and that there should be some restraints on the so called free speech.
Previously, in all societies there have been norms and standards of acceptable behavior. Today many claim that the “Ten Commandments” were given to man by his God to be the foundation of acceptable behavior, whether or not that is true, this much we can not deny that a society can not exist if there is a lot of lying cheating stealing and fornication is going on (some Muslim, Jewish and Christian societies today do not believe that God was right and try to prove Him a liar). In that vane we keep pushing the limits of what is acceptable as free speech.
The Dichotomy. There are things in life that common sense tells us that they must be mutually exclusive, the irony is that there also some people that will argue on both sides of the argument without batting an eye never able to perceive the fallacy of their own beliefs.
The argument goes that there are people who by birth station or color of their skin or place of origin are at a disadvantage in our society, and that the government must step in to help out these people in education and job placement and such. Now the same people that make this kind of an argument will also step in and tell you that ALL people are equal and thereby should be treated equally, now how can you make both of these statements and be right on both counts?
Do we not know that by definition one half of the people are less smarter than the other half (average intelligence), then are these two halves equal? Should they be paid equally, and more so that their work and efforts are equally worthy?
If you say yes, then please get your help form the lower half of the IQ scale and let me have the ones with a bit better knowledge.
No not everyone is created equal, take away her six hundred million dollar estate and Paris Hilton is nothing but white trash, true, but for the time being with all her money she is not treated the same as any other down home worthless slut. We are not all created equal!
We must consider then what the idea of free speech really means, the governments and the societies already are trying to restrict what is acceptable or not, free speech should not be hurtful or degrading or enticing or inciting. We must respect the feelings of others, peoples, cultures, values etc. Our right to free speech must not impose on others to accept you while you insult and degrade their values and beliefs. I do not have to accept your crap if you do not wish to accept mine, we could both agree on some limits to our behaviors.

Breaking the Bank
Our government is more broke than any other government on the face of the earth, in as much as the number of dollars owed and promised to be paid back at some time in the future. There is no money in the social security fund, to pay back the working poor and persons from so called lower middle class, who slaved for years for meager wages for a promise that they will be taken care of in their old age. That money has already been spent many times over, our federal government is the hook for the under funded retirement funds, the FHA loans, the VA loans, the Medicare and the monies owed to the foreign governments and banks for the merchandise bought and sold in retail stores, what we call the trade deficit or current accounts deficit.
As our MBA president brags about our booming economy, if he were to be honest he would be crying real tears for how broke we are, and that the house of cards that the Republicans (with help of sell out Democrats) have built could come down any time at the whim of a foreign or domestic banker or currency trader or the Chinese or Japanese Government.
Since Mr. senile, the President Reagan, declared that the deficits do not matter, that the tax cuts increase the government income, that the global economy is good for every body, that the workers are fools to ask for a decent living wage and can be replaced by slaves in other countries, we have been on a non-stop down hill slide, and like the children of the story of the Pied Piper, we have been a nation glee fully running along to our own national demise.
Our leaders are not giants nor geniuses, they are not gods nor angels, and as such Reagan was an old man with a sense of humor (to make up for his total lack of real knowledge), till he passed into the onset of Alzheimer’s while still in office. If we were to admit the truth that he was not an economic genius who parroted what he was told to believe with a smile on his face. If you believe that cutting taxes actually increases the revenue to the governments coffers then to you Saudi Arabia is nothing but a thousand mile wide beach. What we forget is that under Reagan the government accumulated a trillion dollar deficit. That under Reagan the bank reserve requirements were trimmed, that under Reagan we started to “borrow” money from the social security deposits, without telling the public that it was also a part of deficit spending, that the new banking regulations under Reagan allowed banks to create money on demand, and as such money existed if you wanted it, no need for anyone to save any longer. That under Reagan the stock market truly became a gambling joint.
SO WHO SHOULD PAY FOR THE SUB STANDARD MORTGAGE LOAN LOSSES? There have already been calls for the federal governments to step in bail out the mortgage and banking industry. Does anyone remember we have been here before? Does any one remember the Silverado Savings and Neal Bush, or John McCain and the Keating Five? Michael Milkin anyone? Didn’t the federal government just bail out the fools already? And who gets stuck with the bill? Not the rich mind you because they can not pay taxes , they need tax cuts right?

A Fool's Gold
Whether you are a fan of global warming or not, that is a totally different issue, there are other consequences of this population boom that do not bode well for our future, that is the future of the mankind as a whole.
And this brings me to the recent editorial in “The Dothan Eagle” of Friday February 16, 2007, “ Biofuel research must be a top priority”. I admit that most of it is well thought out and well intentioned, it still leaves out a few problems and concerns that I have with promoting the Biofuel idea as an alternative to the “black gold”.
As we, at the behest of our beloved decider, jump head long into the research and conversions in to Biofuel arena we must consider a few other points. Your editorial already mentions the increase in the cost of corn due to the ethanol production and the cost of tortillas in Mexico, here are a few other items that needs to be considered.
Whether we use the corn or the switch grasses to produce the ethanol, the price of corn will stay up as the land being used to produce corn for the fuel will be used to grow switch grasses, thus the increase in food prices will be the same or similar no matter what we use to produce that fuel. We already see the price of eggs and poultry going up, and surely the cereals, the price of beef and the soft drinks will also go up as the price of corn syrup used in the soft drinks climbs, ethanol also is more expensive to produce than the gasoline and is less efficient, as you correctly noted in your editorial.
We must also keep in mind that even as ethanol is cleaner burning, the fuel is not less polluting to the environment, as to grow more and more organic materials to produce ethanol we will need more and more fertilizers and insecticides and thus directly pollute the under ground water reservoirs and rivers and the oceans, endangering the aquatic life and our own lives also.
As the competition grows for the land use, as to what we need more, the fuel or the food, the price of food articles will keep growing and become almost prohibitive for the poor, or just like in South America we will be forced to cut down the forests to grow these new crops, or let people go hungry. We have always sent our surplus crops to the starving around the world, with a switch to the biofuels we will endanger our own people. Will our elders and the poor on limited incomes still be able to eat?
Will we increase the minimum wage and social security benefits yet again to cover the cost of new more expensive fuel and the cost of food? How will we explain to the starving that they can not eat so as we can still drive our SUVs? What will we do when the fish populations start to die in our rivers because they have become more polluted with the fertilizers and insecticides?
The true and the only solution to our predicament of dependence on foreign oil is to reduce our “addiction” to oil, foreign and domestic. And we can start that by improving public transportation, making smaller cars, using less drive through’, and yes imposing higher and higher taxes on gas to be used for improved public transport. Would you believe a four dollar a gallon gasoline/ diesel tax will give us better and less congested roads, clean the air, give us better transportation systems, actually reduce poverty, and help bring many of our jobs back from over seas, will force Wal- mart into smaller stores, cut our dependence on the Arab oil, reduce terrorism, keep the Arabs from buying out the United States, and tell Hugo Chavez where to get off at.
If we do follow the road to the biofuel heaven, the over all cost increase in foods and fuel and the environmental damage will be the same as a four dollar a gallon fuel tax.
So how patriotic are YOU feeling today?

Back Down on the Earth
My sympathies and condolences to Lisa Nowak and her family, the NASA and the Navy, and to our country. I hope that the judge will find that Lisa was suffering a major depression episode or PTSD and needs psychological treatment and counseling more than she needs being sent to a jail cell. One could argue that she committed a major crime, and yes, I agree, but do you not think that her sudden fall from grace is punishment enough? Surely she will never fly again, let alone be an astronaut, surely she will be retired by the Navy, may be after a small punishment under UCMJ. She would have been going places, as a professor in a military college, or a high level position in NASA, or a consultant. And for a great loss to the little girls everywhere, to whom she will never be invited to speak about the space and the stars and careers, about dreaming big. Now she is going no where, literally.
A genuine star has fallen.
How much more punishment does she deserve. And who among us does not know of a case or two where the system let a few pass through with a slap on the wrist, and if any one ever deserved a break I thinks Lisa and her children have earned this one.
I really do feel sorry for the other girl also, and hope she recovers fine from her shock and can continue, happily, with her own life.
What has bothered me the most about this incident is how it reflects upon the women under stress, in authority, and on our culture.
I personally know, and who does not, of many many incidents of spousal infidelity, even within the ranks of our military, of which I am a part of. I also am a father of two daughters that I would like to see go places, to be the lawyers and doctors and senators and judges. But I would also like them to have some sense of morality, decency and a modicum of modesty, even at the risk of sounding a bit “old fashioned”.
It is not that I am a religious being, I do “however” fully believe that it is the morals and the decency and the self control and certain standards of conduct, that make us humans, superior to our other fellow animals.
I also do not believe that one should be stoned to death, or even jailed for a romantic indiscretion, divorced, yes, murdered, no, even if that is what the “gods” have decreed.
But what, if any part of the blame for what Lisa did can be laid at our own feet as a society, we told her she was great, she could do things that ordinary humans don’t do, she was not an ordinary human being. But at the same time, we also live in a society that preaches “it is all about me”. That you can have “everything” you want. We are a society that says if you are a successful woman you can also have any man you want, whether you are a CSI girl, an Alley Mc Beal, or just a “Desperate House Wife”.
And it is not just the women that are doing it, from Newt Gingrich and John McCain and Rudi Giuliani to Bill Clinton, all have had the same idea. Is this the cost of progress? We are willing to destroy lives, destroy relationships, destroy families. I hope this is not a watershed, I hope that we decide that women can also progress without losing their sensibilities, I hope my daughters are still given the opportunities to succeed to the best level of their own capabilities. I hope that our daughters and sisters and mothers and wives are no longer taught that their only mission in life is to get sex, or just to satisfy another person sexually.

Thinking
Why for instance there must be a reason for the existence of man. We wonder, and we wonder because "we can think", and we can reason, thus we think that their must be a reason for our own existence also. Also if there IS a reason for our existence, then we are important. But can you explain why there are galaxies by the billions, in space, that are going around and going away and being established and being torn down, surely they are much more massive than any of us, and much more powerful in the amount of the gravity they create, the mass that they hold, the energy they generate, has anyone ever thought of why they exist? Why there is a Jupiter or a Mars? Exactly. Man is not thinking about any of it, man is so self loving, so self absorbed that he can only think of himself in all the cosmos.
And if there is no reason at all for this all, then what? why? No one wants to believe that we don't want to live for ever, that we die and then we are dirt, we want to believe that we will live on, didn't the ancient Egyptians prepare themselves for an after life? What the monotheism offered of a life in the here after was not a new concept man already "KNEW" that life continues, man had always been scared of dying.
Gods also have always walked the Earth, Buddha was a God Man, so was Krishna, and Rama and probably others we have never heard of. There are suicide bombers that go out to kill innocents thinking that is what God would want them to do. There are those who "Believe" that going to Iraq and getting caught in a crossfire is what God wants them to do through the most recent disciple "the President".
We don't believe that what we do on this Earth is futile. No matter the riches we have or earn, the degrees, the children we still die, right?
Much as I think, and I write and talk to others, I for one am most assured that I do not make any difference, and I am willing to live with it.
