THE BP OIL SPILL

05/27/2010

THE BP OIL SPILL

11:12 pm

It is a given that the consumer, and not the BP, the big oil or the government will pay for the damages and the clean up. Now what we need to talk about is that how will effect not just the gulf states and their residents, the beaches, the value of water front properties, the fisheries, the fisher men, the boating, the marinas, the sea food industry and the food supply of the whole region and country. If the spill persists and the oil mars the beaches along the gulf coast and may be more, we are looking at the lifestyle changes for millions, with higher fuel costs, higher unemployment, the jobs changes required and retraining for the whole industries along the coast line. Decline in the value of water front properties that have already suffered as much as fifty percent decline in values already, now do you understand the little spill and the value of stocks in the oil companies? Exxon Valdez incident happened in a restricted water with few people living around the shore, No condos and no beaches or tourist traps.

Not yet to speak of innumerable diseases and side effect of living in proximity to the oily beaches where the oil residue and fumes will linger for many years to come yet. Will we be willing to pay for the total cost, or will it become a life changing incident for the generations to come.

SOME REVOLUTIONARY IDEAS II

I live in a world of zombies, why else would I be so desperate. For a longtime, I have tried to wake up the people to the reality, or at least the real possibility that what we are seeing is a dream, a fake, a mirage. The money, the riches, the ever expanding economy and the rising standard of living are all somehow made up. The money is imaginary and without value, so you are given what it will take to keep you  quiet and in your place, for many it did not take very much at all, the unemployed and the ones on welfare.

SOME REVOLUTIONARY IDEAS

05/18/2010

SOME REVOLUTIONARY IDEAS

It seems like so many eons ago, now that I look back, the future looked so much brighter than the past or the present, then I saw the clouds on the horizon and started warning others of the up coming storm. And  I was called a crazy, a lunatic, chicken little. The party was still on and no one wanted it to stop. It is mob mentality, when in Saudi Arabia they stone someone every one wants to get in to the action, and such was the situation here also, as I was warning of the demise of the country and the society, others wanted me to shut up and not to ruin there euphoria. Today as the hangover is starting to set in the same party goers want to be the teetotalers, they call themselves now the "TEA" party.

The more things change, the more they remain the same,  the addition of this new group does not change what lies ahead. Like I have said before, no matter who or what the philosophy of the ruling party or class the result is always the same, we are being  sold in to slavery.

What we are not told is that the United States is bleeding, and it is by  design, to institute governmental control and population controls ( I have been warning), and not because of a communist or anarchist or even a right wing uprising, which all could be an excuse for it, or itself cause the mayhem,  but because of the controls required by the IMF and the Central Banks to make us pay off our debts.

Those who claim to be passionate about freedoms are inciting unrest, and dividing the populace, even talking about dividing the country itself, is it also a part of the plot? As we see in Greece and in Thailand how the protesters are being dealt with ( not much different than Iran and Burma mind you ), and we are told that the unrest is spreading and we should be ready for it, we should remember that in a civil war there are no winners, in the long run the whole country loses. At the same time, while the population fights amongst itself , the real thieves who took the money and left the public and the country poor sit back and laugh at the idiots.

It scares me to think that there are so called "commentators" on the radio and on the internet who are always accusing the "other side" of being responsible for all the problems, when it was us, all of us, the whole country that  was happy to get in on the looting and the destruction, as I have noted in this blog again and again. In truth we are all guilty and now we all must  work together to rebuild, starting with taking responsibility for our own personal behavior and and taming our own greed. Taking care to educate our selves and take responsibility for our children education, and demand that the industry be brought back to  this country, that the workers be fairly compensated, and all must pay more in taxes to save the country. Then realize that when everyone is a millionaire, then a million is not worth a whole lot. Time to get back to savings and frugality.

For far too long while we talked big about how great this country is, we have worshiped the individuals who were not just moral failures but also failures in other walks of life.
From Princess Di to Paris Hilton to Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton, Bush W. and Clinton and others we picked the losers to lead us, and be our role models. We were too easy to forgive, and this led to the lack of responsibility at all echelons of corporate and political structure.

On the other hand a talk of an uprising or unrest only strengthens the hands of the ones in power. We already have (thanks to the patriot act) laws on the books to suspend civil liberties, the Habeas Corpus, detention of persons without notifying any one, suspension of Miranda rights, laws allowing monitoring of persons and groups without warrants, in other words the Constitution is no longer the law of the land.

LIKE I SAID

2010's coming stock market crash: 1987 all over again

 OR LIKE SAID

US is in dire straits , economically speaking, Europe or China or any one else is just not a god enough excuse. If we don't raise interest rates, the inflation goes up, raise the interest rates and the deficits go up because of our outstanding debt. Try to stimulate the economy, the trade deficit goes up and the money ends up landing over seas, because we do not manufacture anything we need and dollar goes down, send the money over seas and the commodities go up and the recovery happens in China and India while we suck empty eggs. MORE?

ALL ROADS LEAD TO HELL V

ALL ROADS LEAD TO HELL  V

This is what gets me,years ago, and even recently when I talked about the budget deficits and the federal spending, my friends on the right were telling me I was crazy, and worse, today the same bunch is calling them selves "the TEA party. They still don't make any sense and have no real solutions for the calamity that faces our nation. Including Glenn Beck that is, only that Glenn Beck is telling us to prepare for the doomsday ( in that he is right) but what will bring us the dooms day he does not really know, he thinks that the communist insurgency is afoot, then again he is partially right  the sudden down fall of the United States may be brought on by the right wing itself.

I had warned about this day, or such an eventuality in my post
, Talking about president Buzz Windrip from Lewis Sinclair' "IT CAN'T HAPPEN HERE"
it should be a required reading in all the  American schools.
I am for welfare reform, against paying people just to have kids, paying low wage workers, an Earned income credit and food stamps too so that they actually make more than a college graduate in a job in Alabama, and have a better standard of living than many. I am against uncontrolled immigration and mass deportations of illegals, both. But i also believer that I should not, and my kids too, have to learn Spanish to be able to get a job in this country. I could easily learn Spanish, but I am not living in Spain, sorry. No job anywhere in the United States should require you to speak Spanish as a basic qualification,

ALL ROADS LEAD TO HELL IV

ALL ROADS LEAD TO HELL  IV

As we look at the oil spill in the gulf , BP i s promising to pay the expenses related to the clean up, and the Federal Government, ( congress, the senate, and the regulators) all promise to make you whole, to do a better job next time, etc.

The oil companies today were bouncing around , blaming each other for the mess, but in the end there is only one fact that matters. Sooner or later, you the consumer will pay a higher price for the product, diesel, gasoline, whatever. I t may be from 50 cents to a dollar higher than what it would have been, then there will be a higher cost for fish and shrimp  oysters too.

Actually it is always the same , in all industries, be it peanut butter, lettuce,  cars or oil, you the consumer always pay for the mistakes of the industry and not the share holders, the companies always jack up the prices, in the long run and you pay.

And it is not just the price of gas,  as we saw in 2008, the price of everything goes up as the price of gas goes up.What this could do the recovery? If there was to be one. Could this " just one small spill could throw the economy back on its back? It is possible,

ALL ROADS LEAD TO HELL III

ALL ROADS LEAD TO HELL  III

As I said back in February  of 2009, at the on set of bail out fever and break out of promises that a recovery was impossible,I could not have been more right. Today any chance of recovery is even more remote. Talk about a "Perfect Storm". Every possible chance of a recovery, global or US is thwarted by some new reality.

From the start there has never been a chance of any recovery, and now with the Icelandic default, the Greece problem and the volcano's effect on European and global trade  a recovery seems even more remote. Then we have the rosy scenario of the " employment picture"  which accepts the ten percent unemployment as the new standard, the ten percent is still a lie to keep the masses ignorant.

We did not need more problems, but there it is, I have predicted a forty percent unemployment rate as the new standard and I am sticking by it. Then do we still need more Mexicans here?

But what I want to talk about is the oil spill and its effect on the future near and far on the US economy and the future of our standard of living.

ALL ROADS LEAD TO HELL II

05/05/2010

ALL ROADS LEAD TO HELL  II

Months ago , I had warned that what is happening in Iceland could happen here, and in Ireland, and in Portugal and now in Greece. I referred to the riots in Russia, and France, the Strikes in the U.K. and Germany, I said it could happen here, soon.

I warned about the economic calamity  that was to befall us in 2002, and 2003, and in 2008, before the elections I said that we were grasping at the straws, it is going to hit the fan, and it did. We are not only witnessing a slow death of the economy, we are also witnessing the death of democracy, as one must follow the other, it is a matter of time only.

As we watch the riots in Greece, and in Thailand, the crime waves in India, Mexico, Pakistan and elsewhere what makes us think that we are immune. May be we look at the third world countries and think and think it can't happen to us. Think again, We are a third world country, we are broke, we are living on debt, we have spent our reserves (actually we don't have any since we are in so much debt that if we sold everything in the country we could still not pay off what we owe.). When we look at Greece and the stipulations of the European banks and the IMF in regards the loans to Greece, we should be looking at our own future. So as the contagion spreads, as the PIGS loans are renegotiated, then followed by England, and the austerity measures and the forced budget cuts, the new taxes, and the lowered social support (social security and welfare), we should know what the future holds for us, very near future that is.

Then there is of course the civil unrest and and rioting and anarchy and suppression of the civil liberties, followed by the increase in crime police abuse, ( oh I forgot we already have the police abuse).

ALL ROADS LEAD TO HELL

05/05/2010

ALL ROADS LEAD TO HELL

Well I am depressed, again, no I do not suffer from depression, I am just down about the world and the future of humanity, and its inhumanity.

We have seen the terrorism and the economic destruction of the people and nations. We have seen the nature's revenge on human advancement. We  have failures of our scientific and economic theories. And we have seen nothing yet since we fail to recognize what is happening.

I am a big believer in the interconnectedness of things, as if you did not already know this from what is always at the bottom of my posts. I am a big believer in the long term consequences of the smallest of changes and incidents. I want everyone else to look at what is not there, and see what cannot be immediately visible.

Whether it be a new scientific discovery, a new financial model, a new drug I want to be careful, heck I even have doubts about god and religions. Yet in this era of information we are more blind and idiotic then the people were in the dark ages.

Is it then the over confidence of humans in our own capabilities, our stupidity that keeps us, head long,  running in to failures. Or is it just the silly human nature that we cannot overcome, no matter what education and information is available. DO THE GODS ON THE MOUNT OLYMPUS STILL HAVE IT IN FOR THE HUMANS.
