A third world country

A proud but a third world nation page 1

We are turning in to a third world country. I know I rant a lot about the economy and the political discord among those we have chosen to run this country.
We also choose these to protect our constitutional rights and protect us from injustice. So much for that ideal. Time and again, over the last fifteen years I posted and wrote about corruption and abuse of our judicial system. Now, on the internet, you can see the police brutality even murder of our innocent ( until proven guilty, right) and innocent (not suspected or involved in a crime) countrymen.
One thing I also taken note of is that those that consider themselves involved are doing no better than sitting at a computer ( including cell phones now) and clicking away at links.
It's a joke, on us! No one cares how many pictures you take, post or share, those in the law enforcement know you are not going do any more than sit on your butt and wring your hands.
Law enforcement is not just your local police and sherif , it is your city council, your county commission, your district judge, your state house, your state senate, your governor, your congress person, senator, justice department, the FBI, your Supreme Court and the president, and the juries that are selected at all levels.

Iran the new best friend

A friend indeed
We must not be ashamed at all when we screw people over until we need them. That is what our common culture has become, has it not. We have friends, then we have "friends with benefits", we have marriages with prenuptials , so it goes.

Did we not try to create unrest in Iran in 2009 after their elections,
http://tombstone001.blogspot.com/2009/06/as-iran-burns.html?m=0
Luckily Iran did not end up in same place as say Syria, Iraq or Egypt, we tried.
We tried to implicate Iran in various terror plots against the US, no matter how far fetched and improbable, we tried.

http://tombstone001.blogspot.com/2011/10/fix-is-in.html?m=0

We said that Iranians were helping Bashar in Syria while McCain was out there "hamming it up" with our favorite terrorists.

http://tombstone001.blogspot.com/2012/03/fix-is-in-ii.html?m=0
Of course we were supporting the terrorists in Syria , still are, we trained them and paid for their equipment but mow the snakes are biting, did I not talk about snake handlers a year ago?
So here we are asking for help from Iran, can they be trusted? Can Iranians be trusted? What of the give the terrorist a free passage to the gulf, then?

I am often accused of being a liberal, I am not. Just because I am a bit learned and like to study subjects and only then form my own opinions instead of listening to some one else and parroting what I hear does not mean that I am some kind of lefty.
I have previously written that we have too many poor and they keep reproducing more poor. That we should offer young girls a stipend until they have a child and then it stops. I have also proposed that the poor should be put up in barracks, separated by gender and then fed in a mess hall, so when it comes to this I am not so far away from the main stream of the Republican Party.

Indiana GOP candidate: 'No one has the guts' to let poor people 'wither and die'

There are, however, two side to a ledger, if we go through with my proposals, Walmart and Dollar stores will lose customers, not only that, pawn shops, furniture rental stores and such will go out of business. The police will write fewer tickets and face layoffs, no drug dealers to bust, no prostitutes to pay the DA and the court system, or lawyers and bondsmen. Lot of people will complain that their rentals properties are vacant and worthless, cable company, power company, phone company may increase rates due  to fewer customers. Of course used car maker will be dead too, and so on.
Some of the things to think over!

A Case for a Higher Minimum Wage

Let's talk real money, 3
A Case for a Higher Minimum Wage

I use examples with which most readers may be familiar, movies, ordinary books and sometimes the scriptures.
In the movie "The Hunger Games" each of the defeated states are made to live in poverty and squalor and also required to offer "tributes" from among their population. Luckily our leaders are not handing us over to our masters to be killed, yet!
While we complain about the government spending and deficits and social spending, we fail to improve the lot of if our ordinary people. One of the bigger scams is called " bringing good paying jobs", this works because most of our people can't do simple math, don't understand money, can't budget, and have no idea that our leaders are really crooks, ( May be they are just ignorant and calling them crooks is giving them way too much credit).
I have lived in Alabama since 1979, that means I have lived here longer than more than half the people of the state.

Let's talk real money, 2

Let's talk real money, 2

If you are poor, middle class or even upper middle class, I have a question.
Our government is in debt, government spending is out of control, and you and I and everyone else owes a part of this debt, equally! Government has spent money on student loans, housing and also welfare, but as we know the money is spent.  We here our leaders complain about the national debt, complain about social spending, defense spending and all the rest, but the question is, where is YOUR money? Why are yo not rich? When you complain about spending why not ask where is my money and who has it!
Ask Obama sure, but he has only been in the office five years, ask your senator, ask your congress person, Obama is a creation of Wall Street, he is a sell out, but what about the Republicans, in the last 33 years the country has had a republican president for 20, ask all politicians, don't blame the other guy and sleep.

Since the close if Vietnam the country has run deficits, every single year, every year larger than the last. Clinton's surplus was a sham and I have shown that, it was partially created by using social security deposits as income and partially because the fed was printing money to create the internet bubble, we the poor and the middle class paid for it dearly!

Let Your Life Be a Friction to Stop the Machine

Nightmare and insanity are akin: mysterious and involuntary states that skew and distort objective reality. One wakens from nightmare; from insanity there is no awakening.

Whether Americans live in the one state or the other is the paramount question of this era.

For two hundred years Americans have been indoctrinated with a mythology created, imposed and sustained by a manipulating cabal: the financial elite that built its absolute control on the muscle and blood, good will, ignorance and credulity, of its citizenry.

America began with the invasion of a populated continent and the genocide of its native people. Once solidly established, it grafted enslavement of another race onto that base.

With those two pillars of state firmly in place it declared itself an independent nation in a document that nobly proclaimed the equality of all mankind.

In that act of monumental hypocrisy America's myth had its beginning.

* * *

A Constitution was written that came to be regarded as American Holy Writ. Its central purposes were to defend private property and suppress mass democracy. It has fulfilled both those mandates beyond the wildest dreams of its creators.

Once the existing oligarchy was secure in law and native people largely exterminated, the ruling class increased its wealth and power fantastically in the 19th century, using the government as its enabler, exploiting to the limit the device of chartered corporations.

With its phenomenal money power, the financial elite began to use the military to expand its sway beyond the continent. Regions, territories, islands, and whole countries were annexed, invaded, and possessed outright, their peoples crushed, suppressed, and ruled.

Because ordinary Americans, like any people, need to believe that whatever the ruling elite undertakes in their nation's name must be essentially benevolent, noble in purpose and justified in fact, the myth had to be radically modified for imperial expansion.

The foundational story was that Americans had come to a howling wilderness teeming with godless savages and, through invincible strength of character and purity of purpose, had tamed the land and honorably earned the right to possess their bountiful home.

In the era of extra-territorial expansion that version was polished to justify and ennoble imperialism. The new corollary was that America could not ignore colonialist brutality but was obliged, by the Manifest Destiny that led us to civilize our own continent, to carry our mission into barbaric darkness wherever tyranny created abuse and suffering.

A national myth that absolutely binds the loyalty of a people to its government must be a subtle and powerful elixir that elevates and aggrandizes that people's self-regard. National policy will then appear to be an extension of its superior citizenry's inchoate will, and the basis for a justified arrogance toward the lesser world.

The simple, powerful myth of America's altruistic and heroic benevolence, shaped and maintained by the financial/political power elite, infused Americans with a deep and outrageously hubristic sense of racial superiority that, mobilized behind various imperial enterprises, has given all such adventures the character of a quasi-religious crusade. In this way insatiable imperialism acquires the apparent moral perfection of a syllogism.

* * *

With WWII, the world was reconfigured. American Capitalism emerged supreme from the horror that had virtually wrecked its capitalist partners. The Soviet Union, though, having absorbed by far the greatest devastation from Nazi Germany, had astonishingly risen above its ruin to become the leading challenger to America as a world power.

This challenge was not competitive, it was systemic: Soviet Communism was a direct threat to American hegemony in that it categorically refuted the philosophical basis of Predatory Capitalism. Grounded in Marx and Lenin, it attacked Capitalism's inherent evils, monstrous inequities and flagrant injustices that, exacerbated by speculation, exploitation and fraud, would destroy it. And it promoted world revolution to that end.

This face-off of giants in the Cold War necessitated further refinement of the American myth. Now, instead of simply intervening in situations where despotism or tyranny required America to forcefully implant our just and ethical democracy, America had to become the shield and bulwark of the sacred capitalist system in which "free enterprise" was magically and increasingly identified with democracy and equally to be defended.

This version prevailed through many surrogate confrontations around the globe in the era of Mutually Assured Destruction and survived even the debacle of Vietnam, lasting until the collapse of the Soviet Union, as the propaganda stream became ever more intense and pervasive. On radio and television Americans were subjected to an unrelenting barrage of hyper-patriotism in which American moral superiority was a given, and America's self-touted courage, generosity and decency were its unchallengeable proofs.

The implosion of the Soviet Union left America, in its own terminology, the "Sole Superpower in a Unipolar World". This, however, did not result in diminution of the myth. The practical effect of having no doomsday enemy--China couldn't plausibly be cast in that role then--was to supercharge it by increasing its element of pure, hubristic ego. America was no longer just called upon to defend the "Free World" from monstrous heresy; it was now, by virtue of its universally acknowledged, beatific "exceptionalism", required to oversee and police it in the interests, and for the benefit, of lesser nations.

* * *

"Power corrupts", said Lord Mahan, "and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

When the only rival and counterweight to American power disintegrated there was a sense within the American power elite that the opportunity existed, for the first time in history, for one country to absolutely dominate and effectively control the entire world.

This consensus was expressed in a policy statement composed by a cadre of major right-wing political players representing massive corporate capitalist interests called the Project for a New American Century. This triumphalist manifesto laid out a plan for absolute American access and control of essential resources and raw materials worldwide, to be guaranteed by the military which would enforce Full Spectrum Dominance.

The American Myth, which had seemed to have lost momentum and its animating principle in the totally unexpected so-called Cold War "victory", was now re-energized with a less defensive and reactive essence, and given the glowing radiance and patina of a true and, for the first time, self-professed and articulated, imperial mission.

The attack on the Towers, an unimaginable provocation, was the trigger mechanism for the explosive launch of the effort to impose that imperial model in practice on the world.

* * *

It has been without question the most spectacular failure in the history of American misadventure. After a decade marked by the waste of trillions of dollars and tens of thousands of American lives, the stunning bankruptcy of our internally burglarized nation, and a consequent recession more fundamentally damaging than the Great One, Imperial America has nothing to show for the botched folly of its arrogant overreach but unequivocal disasters in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, with no end of madness in sight.

An impartial observer would have to say that the hypnotic hold of the American Myth on the loyalty of the people has led only to disgrace and disaster, and set a direct course to inevitable imperial decline and ruin. That would be inarguable on any rational basis, but it entirely mistakes the motive for, and the purpose of, the myth. The American Myth was never intended to serve the interests either of our country or of our people: it was created solely to buttress, shield, and exalt the ruling financial class. It has done that with astonishing and unbroken success that staggers the imagination from our earliest days.

The massive looting of Iraq/Afghanistan/Pakistan war funding to enrich the Corporate Tyranny—for that is what it has become—is on an unique scale of its own, without anything remotely comparable to its flagrant obscenity in the whole long history of war.

Neither the Pentagon nor any branch of the U.S. government can give any accounting whatever of the many billions of tax-generated dollars that have vanished, evaporated. There is no doubt but that beyond the outrageously inflated, no-bid contracts handed to giant corporate favorites with their preposterous guaranteed profits, much of the money was simply stolen in bulk by, through, or in spite of the military, and distributed among thieves and accomplices, some of it on huge pallets… for convenience, presumably.

* * *

While this wholesale robbery was going on under the oversight of the military abroad, the Corporate Tyranny had evolved a whole set of impenetrably complex devices for the generation of money without any economically productive source or result at home.

The sole driving force and purpose of Capitalism is the realization of profit. According to that calculus, reducing production costs increases profit margin. This leads to the obvious conclusion that as production costs near zero, profit is maximized.

There is no provision for social good in Capitalist theory. Corporations, created to optimize business opportunity through efficient specialization, were originally required to operate for public benefit but that provision was quickly finessed and forgotten.

American law courts have always favored corporate concentrations of wealth since they, like the Congress, exist to serve the moneyed interests. The American Myth was created to provide cover for the financial oligarchy to exploit the country and the citizenry, and the judiciary has consistently cooperated in ruling for corporations against the people.

Indeed, without ever considering the question in law, the Supreme Court long ago endowed corporations with "personhood", that is with all rights of human beings under our Constitution. The way this travesty occurred--the slipshod by-product of an obliquely related case--shows that the court preferred to incorporate this perversion of the plain intent of the 14th amendment as an unexamined assumption rather than risk an eventual test which would unquestionably have created violent public outrage.

Given the collusion of Congress and the courts in securing legal invulnerability for the Corporate Tyranny and the principle that the only duty of corporations is maximization of profit, it was not surprising that megabanks, huge brokerage houses, giant insurance conglomerates, gilded hedge funds and the credit agencies pretending to certify their work, all engaged in massive and systemic fraud and deception for just that purpose. The result was the crash of '08, the recession, and the stunning and unprecedented rescue and bailout of the biggest banks, investment houses, and insurance and credit conglomerates with taxpayer dollars. So much for the hallowed Invisible Hand of the Free Market…

* * *

The last decades have seen two related megatrends in American geopolitical mechanics, both with dire effects on the power of the American Myth. First, what belief the world at large had in it has been shattered by a catastrophic series of imbecile and irretrievable military failures and disasters, which has caused erosion of its efficacy at home. Second, in response to this, the State has made increasingly crude efforts to boost the Myth's waning power by the imposition of totalitarian methods of surveillance, intimidation and coercion on the American people to a degree unprecedented in scope and scale.

The whole clanking, medieval apparatus of Homeland Security that has sprouted like an enormous poison fungus since 9/11 with its brutal police state mindset; the odious Patriot Act with its flagrant subversions of the Bill of Rights; the endless, fantasy-based terror-peddling of the prostitute corporate media with its clowns and harpies churning irrational fear and anger in the uninformed: all this grim, repressive endeavor is a concerted attempt to distract Americans from the real causes of their injury, abuse, and oppression.

And yet, even with the American Myth now totally and irreparably blown full of holes and exposed demonstrably for the tissue of lies, deceptions and frauds that it has always been, it somehow keeps its phenomenal hold on the great mass of the American people. The tragic reality is that, for the majority, their own identities have been so deeply and thoroughly infused with the myth that to disbelieve it is to disbelieve in themselves.

* * *

So the American Myth is dead, and yet it lives on in its deadness, horribly masking our crapshot economy, our bankrupt debtors prison of a society, our Ghost Dance charade of kabuki democracy, while typhoons of impending social, economic and ecological disaster build their enormous, lightning-charged thunderheads above the dark future before us.

And what is it that the dead Myth still imperfectly obscures for Americans? What is outside and beyond the opaque wall of faltering, failing dishonesty and deception? What is the horror that the shoddy, tattered Myth has so long and so effectively concealed?

It is the world that has suffered unrelieved exploitation by the violence of our imperialist mania. It is the many wrecked and pillaged economies financially looted by our imposed predatory capitalist austerity regimes. It is the teeming hundreds of millions of starved, deprived and dying children sacrificed to Wall Street commodities gaming. It is the multitudes of humble, innocent, ignorant people, barely surviving in absolutist and dictatorial regimes propped up in their barbaric cruelty by our military while our banks siphon off the profits left after arming their brutal police and armies and bribing their ruling Kings, Sheikhs or Generals. It is the millions of dead and maimed in the raped populations of simple tribal people whom our indiscriminately murderous juggernaut has left in its bloody wake in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. It is the appalling legacy of hate and repulsion, disdain and fear, that America has earned with its appalling hegemonist villainy in every corner of the world.

And at home, what is it we Americans have been so complicit in hiding from ourselves in our devotion to the perverse legend that has come to inhabit our souls like a succubus?

It is the millions of us with no work and no hope in middle age whose jobs and homes have been devoured by the heartless fraud machine of Wall Street. It is the trashed and demolished weedlots of our major cities eroding in crumbling, fire-gutted ruin. It is the many towns and cities with industries shut down and factories deserted or dismantled and shipped overseas. It is our decaying, disintegrating public schools, our bankrupt states and counties, our overtaxed, antiquated public transportation systems, our obsolete, dissolving infrastructure, our bloated, irrational prisons complex, our punishing and inadequate health care disaster, and over it all, the repressive mechanism of our police state, armed and empowered, ready for use against the American people themselves.

* * *

This is where we are. The great question now is whether we as a nation can awaken from this long historic nightmare and face the terrifying and exhilarating prospect of living in the full light of reality without the false props and dishonest constructs of a hoodwinked, herded and dishonored people or, whether we have internalized the falsity and disease to such an extent that it has become an organic, overmastering form of insanity?

In 1846, Henry David Thoreau, offended to his soul by the injustice of the American government's invasion of Mexico, protested it and went to jail for his convictions. Later, in his essay On Civil Disobedience, he said this:

"If injustice is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then, I say, break the law. Let your life be a counter friction to stop the machine."

To attempt to break the hold of the American Myth will be a titanic, daunting challenge. To even begin to openly rebel against the might of the National Security State will require the courage to face much more than official disapproval and denunciation. Imperial America will not respond to even the most peaceful and orderly protest with anything less than hard police repression and the level of punishment will rise in relation to the scope and seriousness of the action undertaken.

Small protests will have no effect and will be meaningless. Organized mass events, when they occur, will draw the whole fiercely and brutally motivated National Security State apparatus down upon themselves. Americans, excepting those of our underclass who have felt it, have no experience with violent police or military repression. Those who commit peaceful civil disobedience, a first and innocent tactic of serious protest, will swiftly find out to their cost how it works. In a National Security State that has excised and eradicated all defensive laws and regulations intended to prevent abuse of the public, whatever the State does is legal. To such a pass have we in America come as a result of our long historic indoctrination in serving our financial elite, our Ruling Class.

To achieve any redemption for Americans, to make possible any more just, humane and life-honoring society, will require complete abandonment of the system of Predatory Capitalism. If offers no prospect of reform or improvement and we have all been witness to the idiocy of the so-called "democratic process" in action for generations now.

America is nearing the greatest crisis point in its history and the terrific cataclysm, when it happens, will determine the future our country is to have. If we cannot, in dominating numbers, rise to reject the heartless, mindless, soulless machine of Imperial Predatory Capitalism, we will be condemned to a fascistic command and control horror in which human beings are mere possessions of the State, units of production or service, and then perhaps not even that, as excess population in that brave, new world nay be eliminated.

That end is not inevitable. We are not lost. We are not even defeated because to this moment we have not engaged. We have not honored our responsibility as human beings. We have not risen to defend our humanity. We have let ourselves be ruled.

All around the world the thunder of vast and immeasurable discontent can be heard and felt. In Egypt and Spain, Jordan and Greece, Iraq and Sudan, Afghanistan and Ireland, Latin America, the Far East and Africa, the legitimate anger of humanity is expressing itself against the dead and killing hand of Predatory Capitalism and its agencies of violence. And here, in America, so long trapped and encapsulated, frozen like a fly in amber in a false religion of state idolatry, the anger is deep, widespread, and growing.

It is up to those who know and care to lead. As Thomas Paine said, "These are the times that try men's souls." Nothing is guaranteed us. That can't matter. We cannot be concerned with odds or outcomes. We cannot let the Machine of Injustice grind on. We must oppose it with all the moral force we own. We must act with quiet courage to confront a vicious tyrannical system that is destroying the earth, its life, and its people. We must put our lives on the line to oppose it.

The Nightmare Machine of rapacious exploitation has overthrown humanity's decency and reason and its bloody inhuman treason flourishes over us. This must be ended.

Let your life be a friction now to stop the Machine.

The Whole World Is My (Third World) Country! 2
There are million important things to talk about, and there are million reasons why you should be paying attention. Yet you are busy, busy talking about BenGhazi, you are busy talking about starvation, you are busy talking about Obama's passport while your kids are making they can support.

Not to worry though, if you are a believer in any of the monotheistic faiths, your "sins" are already forgiven and soon a Messiah will come to deliver you.
But wait, what if you are not a believer or the Messiah will not come soon enough, the stuffing of humanity is weak.
I wrote about the "event horizon" that the humanity is facing. It is not science fiction and it does not have to be a conspiracy theory, but the most of humanity, the end is near, you could even see it from a Sarah Palin's house.
We have lost the battle, because we have lost our everlovin minds.

Ever see that card that one side says, " how to keep and idiot busy, look on the other side, on the "other side" the same phrase is repeated. In America today, and in the rest of the world too, billions of people are kept busy flipping the same card over and over and over.
In congress the right keeps holding hearings on Benghazi, captivating millions and the left is blaming the other side for all that may be wrong with the other side, but never mind folks, stay tuned, it will get exciting one day when our leader get something meaningful accomplished. Please, I beg you do not hold your breath, or may be I wish that you would.

This is sad. I am told that (sometimes) my writings can be depressing, you are too kind, don't worry though, I will only commit suicide when I am declared terminally ill. Many people I know have Already killed themselves while they are still living.

Earlier today I posted about John Kerry saying that "it is not Islam but poverty that is giving rise to terrorism, we'll Kerry, welcome to my world.
It has been long acknowledged that poverty gives rise to radicalism. I have noted that Russian revolution, the French Revolution and the Arab spring all had basis in income disparity and ( relative) poverty. The breakdown of the Mexican society, the Syrian instability exploited by outsiders, all have similar upbringing. Actually what is keeping peace in many places, even like China, is social spending and spending on infrastructure, to keep the masses busy.
Around the world, the third world countries have somethings in common, the poverty, the disparity between the rich and poor, corruption, power of big money ( corrupting influence of rich on country's policies).
The rich buy politicians, the politicians manipulate the policies to suit the rich, the rich pay off the politicians, the police and even the military to stay in power. You see where I am going with this?

But I will speak to this point later, not tonight.

There are two things happening in "broad day light" and in your face that you have failed to see.
World wide the poor are getting poorer, the wages are being lowered and the countries, states and towns are begging industries to come to "their place" and they will gladly screw their poor and cater to the whims of big money. Chinese are moving factories to Vietnam and USA corporations are moving production from "high wage" Columbia to Bangladesh, isn't globalism just peachy, screw our American brothers, please.
It is funny, no it is NOT damn funny, idiots. New York and Texas ( and all the rest ) vying to see who can bend over more and take it deeper.

IF. When small children don't get their way, or are otherwise disappointed, they throw a tamper tantrum, grown ups are expected not to!
If true, then we must be a nation of little children. From the left and the right, the tantrums ever grow louder and no one wants to hear the other side, no one wants to budge an inch, no where is it more evident then in our own esteemed Washington, DC.
Hey, why not? We are a nation if whiners and complainers, left and right everyone wants everything and wants it right now, without having to sacrifice anything, obviously.
We want tax cuts for the rich, or unlimited welfare, we want clean environment and drinking water just don't ask us to stop using fertilizers, growth hormones, or to stop driving our cars, big homes and whatever. We want to ban abortion and birth control, but do not dare ask us to stop screwing around or having babies we can not afford. We want school prayer, but don't ask us how some many that HAD school prayer became hippies, druggies and had babies out of wedlock. And that is just for starters.

United We Stand? 2

United We Stand? 2.

We are enamored by our media, we love our news, we have free media, wrong!
Freedom and democracy require a free and open media as well as free and open discussion of issues of the country.

First of all it is difficult to have an open discussion and exchange of ideas in a nation where so much information is kept under wraps for reasons of "state security". We have no idea what our government is doing on our behalf and in our names.
Worse, what we call an open and free media is all owned by big corporations and billionaires, do you really think they are looking out for your interests over their owner's?
The media create ideas, implant ideas in your head and nurture these, encouraging you to believe no one else but them, your favorite channel of course. So if CNN or MSNBC make you depressed or disgusted you can turn to FOX any channel any show and soon you are raging homicidal, suicidal maniac, no depression here.
Media are used to separate the populous, to divide the country and to reinforce negative feelings towards each other. Any idea that will separate one from the other will do. And while the people fight each other, are ready to harm each other, the thieves are looting the country blind, don't you wish the Russians had it this easy?

United We Stand

United We Stand?

Most Americans are a proud people. But actually I could have used any nation and any flag to represent the title statement, short and sweet. But in reality it is a meaningless phrase, it does not represent the reality of humanity.
Americans, as most people of the world, anywhere in the world are deeply divided lot, factionalism reigns supreme. Our leaders laud the unity of the country when in reality they can barely talk to each other, can not get along and holding back the country fro the true progress needed to advance the country.
We are torn along the political lines, policy lines, social lines, and yes I will say it, along the religious and ethnic lines. Our so called leaders might as well be Nigerians or Ukrainians, they are using these divides only to promote and project their own political power and agendas to the real detriment of the country at large.

@neiltyson: Our Common Sense is not derived from what's true in Nature but from what our senses perceive to be true in Nature.

Serendipity or dumb luck, many times when I write or talk about some things, I have no problem to find supporting and contemporary examples.

As it was with this local strike. Governor Bentley came here, ten miles down the road to talk about " high paying jobs", ironically or just stupidly he did not come by to support the strike, so much for good paying jobs. My story continues after you please read the warning below, it is important. Just so you know what I am about to say may in fact not be true.

You may call me a hypocrite, I have already admitted that I am, you know me as a conservative, as a gun toting, constitution quoting anti big government type, you know me. But then I had my reasons, as a human, to support the strike and the workers rights, and that makes me a communist.

Bentley reminded me of an experience, once, it may also apply to those in strike as people, like myself, that grew up in sixties or seventies. Read Warning!

Bentley talked about high paying jobs, Bentley is a moral and upstanding person, Bentley is conservative too, like me.

Back many years ago I got a date late one night, we went to my place, she told me she was married, she did not want the lights on, next morning she had to leave early before her husband was up so she could be ready for the service.

We may go on strike for higher pay or better benefits, we may may tell lies about high paying jobs that we are creating,
Somethings never change.

Does one have to be thinking to be a hypocrite? I think it is automatic, we tend to do it so naturally that we don't even notice ourselves. I am a smoker, I have heard some horror stories about the behaviors of ex-smokers, worse than a bad mother in law they say. ( not being sexist, thank you for noticing.
We have people with great health care plans begrudging those that don't have one. Those opposing the affordable care act are the ones that scare us about death panels, but without insurance you don't even get a death panel, you just get death.
I have heard that the government can't make you buy services, yet we buy car insurance if we wish to drive shouldn't we also buy healthcare if we want to live?
Then if one gets sick the government makes the doctors and hospitals treat us, why can't the government just make the builders just build us a new home if ours gets destroyed. Don't you think that forcing the doctors and hospitals treating the uninsured is communism of the worst kind ?

It is not just that our leaders, our politicians, bankers and industrialists can not recall the political and financial policy failures of the past, it seems that at all levels of humanity the standard practice is, to get out of hole, dig deeper.

How can we blame these, they are from among us, like us, may be bit more money or connections, but still. If they borrow money to reduce the deficit then who among us does not do the same in their home.

BTW why does John Boehnor always has that look of a third wife that did not have a turn last night, I know what I am talking about.

We should have a "jackass" or "Ridiculous" show for politicians too.
Oh well, I was talking of people in general, just like our politicians we make bad alliances too. Look at Iraq, Panama and others, we loved them one day and hate them the next, then you know how much a divorce costs these days.

Pardon me for stealing and paraphrasing the old movie title. The comedy about having the ability to have your brain cleansed of off all painful thoughts would obviously be a bliss but who needs that.
In most instances many people cannot only not recall a thing about their past let alone, it would appear, learn from it.
Evolutionists and creationist will both agree that human memory had a lot to do with the human advancement. But here, at the start of the 21st century, there is ample evidence that we have lost the capacity to remember, there are strong indications that we are regressing.

I will be back soon, please come back and follow my line, it may just only entertain you, I will make sure of that. Do not be shy, comment and share.

Cannibalism Redefined, part 11

Cannibalism Redefined, part 11

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way..."I
Charles Dickens
A Tale of Two Cities

I did not start writing this series, two weeks ago, to address the current strike. The strike just fell in my lap as I was on a certain topic. Irony is not lost on me that I defend higher wages, more benefits and better treatment for many that may not be as fair to those that are less fortunate than them. I know there are those on picket lines that shop at box stores to save a few pennies rather than support local small businesses. Like I said there may even be some die hard republicans their that are against minimum wage increase or want lower corporate taxes. I respect your feelings, I do not agree with your opinions.

Humans always do the same things expecting that they are smarter than previous generations, able to produce better results while they repeat the same mistakes of the past.
We read history and old books that carry all warnings and we say then, "we believe" and proceed to do different.
The book above was a warning also to the English. The French Revolution preceded the Russian, and the Chinese followed the Russian, were there no warnings? Before the Egyptian uprising against Hosni I had asked, " what if the public lost the fear of dying?"
Workers in America are being oppressed at all levels, the true unemployment is near thirty percent if you take away the "safety net" payments. It is a good time to read "The Tale of Two Cities".

Cannibalism Redefined, part 10

Cannibalism Redefined, part 10

A few thoughts on eating your kids.

We are all guilty, we were admonished to take care of our own, to be kind to poor, widows and orphans, and take care of them, etc. "For a man that was once a clot of blood soon forgets from whence he became, and says where is the proof".

I am not religious and din't even pretend, there are messages in the ancient texts, however, that still are true if the human condition.
I am sure there are many out in rain standing up for better treatment and humane condition that may have, more than once, look down upon the less fortunate, I do not fault you.
From the age of about five till nine I was raised in abject poverty. With my father away at college, my mother, a school teacher struggled to feed us three kids and a brother that was also a student in college, school teacher in poor countries don't make a lot, five of us in that house, a half pound of meat a week was luxury we could seldom afford. Many nights our dinner was scraps of bread.
I have no life, few friends, I do not drink, do not go to visit people, I have three kids, I want them to live in world that does not look down at them, I do not want them to suffer in poverty.
If we keep tearing down each other for this reason or that we will not end up in a good place.
How low can we go? We were told not to worship money, but we do. Not just our own money, but the money that the others have, America was not supposed to have lords and barons, we have them now.
At the same time while we begrudge each other over a few dollars, our political leaders are selling out our country, our states, counties and townships, with tax abatements, free services, employment services, free training and yes welfare and medicaid for the workers for the low low wage for low low prices, while the smaller business people fall by the wayside.
Thanks to our politicians, our social security is broke, our 401ks are stolen or lost, our sick pay and holidays and pay raises keep disappearing,

If this downhill slide of wages, and benefits keeps going what will our kids live like, our grand kids, what kind of country will we leave them in, what will our country look like. As some fight for a decent life, lets stand with them, they are fighting for us, for our freedoms, our way of living, just as the soldiers on any front line, it IS the American thing to do, It Is the right thing to do!
Lets not feed our kids to the monsters, let leave our kids a future, a good future, there are consequence to selling your soul.

Cannibalism Redefined, part 9

Cannibalism Redefined, part 9

What would you think of a child that was raised, breast fed even, by a mother that the child decided to/ may be actually killed?

It seems to me that some of my friends do believe that having their head up their, or someone else's ass makes them down to earth.

I used to drive a cab in West Palm beach. In 1974 the minimum wage was $1.85 an hour, I drove a twelve hour shift, six days a week, on good days making $30 or 40. No benefits.
Then I was hired by the City of West Palm Beach as an electrician, starting pay $7.25 an hour, sick leave, pension, paid holidays and retirement, imagine that.
In 1985 when I started in civil service, I joined the union on day one.

Here in south people are "Republicans", I know many on strike there did not vote for Democrats. I am neither of these. It is common here for people on welfare and medicaid to be republican, a friend that received workman's comp and unemployment also is a republican. I have lived in the third world, if it was not for the safety nets today, our America would be a third world country too.
And then the argument that the soldiers get paid less, I know, I was guarding ammo dumps in snow up to you know where at $360 a month. But I also know that the aviation safety, aviator training, and the lives of these soldiers we so adore depends on the work of these same people you are bad mouthing, think about it! Do you want some back yard mechanics or welfare recipients do their job.
Time to get that head out.

You know I am against big corporate stores in favor of small business, I call it survival strategy. If you want I will post a link about economy.

Cannibalism Redefined, part 8

Reminds me of the movie "Django" where the slave owners used slaves to fight each other, to punish each other, even to kill each other. Today all the American workers are those slaves.

Cannibalism Redefined, part 8

Last night a local union on the military base next door went on strike, I don't care why, I am with them. In recent years the American workers have been shafted by their bosses and by their government so someone has to take a stand.

I have talked to a couple of people locally about the situation. But what can I say, you know this is the South, we worship the rich because Reagan said so, we hate the unions, because Reagan and Rush say that they are bad for your health and they eat your babies too. Let me assure you that I have lived next to the military base for a long time and raised three kids, the unions do not eat your babies.

One contractor said to me they get paid way too much, buy many cars and live in big houses. But to those that have been misled that rich people create jobs, let me remind AGAIN that rich do not create jobs that you have been brain washed in to believing by those that you trust.
Whether you work at the local barbecue joint, the Waffle House or any such place, the "rich" are not coming there, it is mostly working stiffs that may make a bit more than you or even a lot, like may be even 80 or 90 grand a year, These are the ones that live in bigger house where you cut their yard, you clean their house or you child baby sits for them, they are the real job creators, The Middle Class. And if you are an average house builder or sub contractor you may be even build their house, the really rich, you probably don't know where they live, couldn't go there because they have guards that shoot.

Our politicians are always enamored of the rich, the rich put money in their pocket and buy them elections, then they own the politicians like their lil lap dogs. The politicians lie to you that they are bringing you jobs by opening a Walmart and soon so see the dogs roaming the down town where hundreds of small businesses used to be, the independent business man raising a family could not put thousands in the pocket of the elected and so he got dumped.
These union workers may make a bit more than you, (may even be sorrier workers than you are( hard for me to believe that), but they ARE the real back bone of this community, they are the ones buying homes here and supporting local schools and churches, not some big corporation sucking at the governments tit and taking the monies to where ever the heck. The union pay stays local, it is spent here, it helps here.

Cannibalism Redefined, part 7

Cannibalism Redefined, part7

It is sad that some very poor don't understand the economy. They live on welfare and medicaid, they do drugs and get busted creating jobs for the police and the prison systems, they create jobs for lawyers and judges. They pay more for their cable service and cell phones than they spend on their children, in the South here, they are mostly white and Republicans. They vote for tax cuts, prayer in school and for "straight" marriage while their daughters have sex and kids to of wedlock. Blacks and others do also, but blacks generally vote for democrats.

But what about the middle class?
We know that the middle class are struggling, living hand to mouth on a measly 100k and up, they are screwed bad and don't even know what happened. This is the cost of being stupid. Can't afford to get married or have kids (unless you move to south and then live within your means, budget and be smart). Just small example, they lost money buying homes and then market dropping, money in 401k lost when market dropped, health insurance through the roof, benefits, retirements cut, but you are hooking up, getting laid, life is good, bend over and spread your cheeks, smile, the economy is picking up while your life falls to pieces.

Cannibalism Redefined, part 6

Cannibalism Redefined, part 6

It is understood that words have meanings, also known is the fact that words effect emotions and feelings, thus opinions.
Aldous Huxley talks about "double speak" to make this clear, change the words and you change the thinking and thus human behaviors.

Throughout history, a majority of humanity has found eternal comfort in lasting and persistent ignorance, rather than to go through the pain of learning and opening their minds.

In psychology there is a thought that if you want children to learn to speak early, clear and even be smarter then do not use "baby talk". So what when we start talking to adults in baby talk? "Veggies" is one word I refuse to use.
May be it is not intentional, but the psychologists, the clergy, the politicians and specially the media treat us like we are kids ( a bunch of fools) and we are eating it up. And we do it to ourselves too, not without help mind you. We must like being treated like fools or they would not dare.
One more thing for today. You have heard of "ADD" also called "ADHD". Now most of these kids used to be called "retarted", unable to concentrate, pay attention or stay on task. Of course you and I know that a grown up must be able to pay attention, stay on task, think.
Then we are told that people today have a short attention span, college kids fall asleep in class or are on "social media", ( in my own teaching days, I would have called it playing with one's self).
This compounds the problem, you are getting screwed but your mind is distracted, sadly it is also happening in IRL more than you think.

Cannibalism Redefined, part 5

Cannibalism Redefined, part5

In practice cannibalism was mostly practiced when a tribe killed a person of an opposing tribe. It would follow that for starters we need tribes. But we don't live as tribes any more so it would be difficult to kill each other. But wait, we are tribes, and divides are deep as ever. Are tribes do not depend on linage, color or race, we are tribes in religion, economic philosophies, education levels, business associations, and much more, our divides as deep as any two given tribes in the past.
We have southern tribes and eastern tribes, we have free traders and communists, we have the educated vs the illiterate, left-right, you name it, all near willing to kill each other to prove our point.

Cannabalism Redefined, part4

I am a hypocrite, may be my writings make think I am kind or generous or even forgiving, I am not.
I am 62, I have lived in four different countries, on three continents, for at least four years. I have lived in eight different societies, learnt seven distinct languages, I have been a watcher of humanity, at many different levels. This no credit to me, I was conniving enough to keep from getting hurt or thrown out or rejected.

What I know is what I learnt from osmosis, to survive, even to thrive, what I say is what I learnt about humanity and what it will take for the humanity to make it in the long run, as humanity.
Bottom line, to me all humanity is the same, all humans are the same, I am no better than anyone, not do I consider any other human better or superior to myself no matter how.
Once we reach this point, other problems of humanity can be solved equitably, judiciously and peacefully, right, true and honest information is the key.

Cannibalism Redefined, part 3

Cannibalism Redefined, part three

Of course not like we are cave people, we are sophisticated, and cannibalism is a dirty word. It implies that we kill people, to eat them.

Did I mention to you that in modern culture if we don't like something, we just change what we call it, problem solved. I have a whole article on the subject on my blog if you like, but here are a couple if examples. Torture so uncivilized that only the terrorist ( or regimes like North Korea but never ever friends) use it, we in the other hand only use "enhanced interrogation techniques",
And by god if killing innocent civilians is gets under your skin, just say "collateral damage", heck we could even use the term in a nursery rhyme, "may the odds forever be in your favor".

So that we understand clearly, killing or starving people is not as bad as cannibalism, is it?

Cannibalism redefined, part 2

Cannibalism redefined, part 2

@tombstone001: A newcomer to a big city walks in to traffic, or falls down a manhole while admiring the high rise buildings, #humans !

We are nothing if we are not enamored by the new things we have, we wouldn't know how we would survive without them, we do not see how the ones before us ever survived without.
In this we are willing to do anything, worship any god, and follow anyone that promises us continued and ever expanding universe of expanding goods, easy life, unlimited riches, noting has changed in human history. We followed Jim Jones, David Koresh and we followed Rasputin, no nothing has changed.
These things do not come without cost and we are ever willing to pay any cost, people used to sacrifice their own kids.
May be we need to redefine cannibalism. Just as I discussed that we can not define murder yet, may be similarly we can not define cannibalism also, I try here to make it clearer, or muddier.
Let's say you and I are stranded on an island, all that stands between us and death is a can of beanie weenies, just one can, that night I just find a big rock and smash your brains. Now I have not committed any cannibalism have I, think!
May be I did, I have committed cannibalism, but mind is at ease, I did not commit cannibalism
Swallow this much. Rest.

Cannibalism Re Explained

Cannibalism re-explained

As it has been my effort with @CNN about the missing flight #MH370, we must ask the right questions to get the right response.
Sometimes we fail to ask these right questions only because we do not know what to ask, that because due to lack of our own knowledge. I, sometimes, try to first explain, what I am trying to explain, for a reason. We all do not always agree as to what a word or a phrase means. Why I use a term in way that you were never shown to use.
May be because I see the world a bit different than others, where everything is connected, like it or not, where the consequences of action A are exactly those of the action B even though A and B are not only not similar or may actually be totally opposites of each other.

If I haven't lost you already, hang in there, I am trying hard.

So what is (human) cannibalism and what does it have to do with free trade and open markets

While back I wrote a series I called, " I roads lead to hell", it is on my blog if you want a link. I tried to show how our policies, liberal or conservative, financial or social will always have the SAME outcome, and will be detrimental to the average person.

Fool Me Once, Economics 101

Fool Me Once , Economics 101

There is an adage about making the same mistake, it says one is crazy, I might say one is stupid. But we do not believe that our leaders, our finance ministers or bankers are stupid, or crazy, I believe, I know they are a bunch of thieves and crooks scamming the nations, stealing money from governments and leaving the populace broke.

We have "known austerities, and "unknown austerities" and we have "known unknown austerities", to paraphrase a minster of ( master of) thieves.

Back in the days of Jimmy Carter I happened to take accounting I&II, so I know how to balance the books, apparently we must be paying our financiers to blow smoke up our panties or they would have known how. For the umpteenth time I will explain.
I heard the inflation is low, now if you can not buy a house because housing is way up, health care costs are through the roof and higher education, forget that! So some one is either lying or is freaking ignorant as carp pile .
I have elsewhere explained how only the rich can cause inflation
Is BBC AND OTHER MEDIA STUPID? I know financial news only and already caters only to the rich then who will speak the truth to you and I?
The way I see it, the problem is not low inflation, the real problem is lower taxes that are allowing the rich to "buy" parking space near their work for more than an average person will make in their lifetime

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/other/what-does-465-000-buy-you-london-parking-space-just-f6C10874760
Then the problem, the governments must borrow more and more to keep going while the rich can buy politicians to lower their taxes. This will not, can not end well.

While the social spending goes up and then cut back, lowering the standard of living for millions, the rich, the job creators are taking that money to "invest in bonds" or to gamble with in stock markets.
The job creators actually are cutting jobs ( improving productivity) the governments are forced to borrow more and spend more to keep the working poor down, and keep them quiet, sometimes it is also called social spending, or to create jobs by
Increasing infrastructure spending for the benefit of the rich, better roads and air ports.
