GAMBLING VS FORNICATION

GAMBLING VS FORNICATION

What else should I write about on this Valentine's day but "Fornication vs Gambling". And the topic is appropriate for my state of Alabama as there is a lot of hoopla around the subject of gambling good or bad.

There are two groups here, one group saying that the gambling, ( we here call it legal Bingo or even (( tongue in cheek)) charity bingo), creates jobs that our state needs so desperately, and that they are dong this just to help out the poor, the other led by our not so esteemed but steamed governor say that gambling is immoral and creates problems for the society. Could they both be right?

Let's see, I have previously proposed that no rich people ever create a job for the sole purpose of helping out the poor, I have even said that rich create jobs so that the can exploit the labors of the poor for their own benefit, this is not Marxism but John Adams at his purest.

Let me assure you that I am not naive there is good in gambling, especially if you are winning, it does create jobs, and does spread the money around, mostly towards the rich and the casino owner, so let's admit first that a bingo hall by any other name is still a casino, you go to lay your money down on a chance of winning or losing or there would be no fun in it.

But the question I have is this, why are we not crusading against extra marital- premarital sex when they cause just as many problems in the society as would gambling, if not more?
Or is it just easier to pick on just one group of "sinners" as opposed the majority of the people?
Isn't dating just another name for fornication as Bingo is to gambling? Or is banning dating and extra marital sex next on the agenda of the moral police?
