BEING A PROPHET

02/28/2010

BEING A PROPHET

It was easy being a prophet in the dark ages, people still believed in the super natural, and with little control and understanding of the nature, they always surrendered to the unknown. Today we have sciences and technology, we have knowledge of physics, and chemistry, we understand biology, we have been to the moon and come back, we even control the birth and the life and the death. So it is that even though we proclaim to profess  a religion, out relation to and the fear of the supernatural is mininmal.

In the old days thus, it was easy for the prophet to scare people in to giving up their evil ways and to have them follow a moral guideline, even if it involved child sacrifice or anointing the alter and the doorways with the blood of sacrifice. It did not take much for people to fear nature, a bad crop, a small disease, an uruly ruler were all that it took for the people to become confirmists. To understand and fear the wrath of nature.

Today, however,  even with the earthquakes in Haiti and Chile, which followed the large earthquakes in Pakistan and China, and a Tsunami in the Indian ocean with hundreds of thousands dead, the hurricane in New Orleans, the people don't seem to be scared of the nature, they have not become more  pious and or less greedy. And the  prophets may warn of the next upcoming doom, the world changer, the message yet falls upon deaf ears. It may not be the time to find a new "God" or a God anew, it is time for us to reconsider our priorities, our place in the nature, away  from the TV, away from "Youtube" and the "Facebook", there is a life out there, "for real".

LIFE IS A GAME OF CONNECT THE DOTS, IF YOU DON'T CONNECT ALL THE DOTS OR DON'T CONNECT THEM IN THE RIGHT ORDER YOU NEVER GET THE PICTURE
