WHAT HAPPENED TO AAFIA SIDDIQUI

WHAT HAPPENED TO AAFIA SIDDIQUI

You know, when young children play hide and seek they sometimes just cover their eyes and think others cannot see them. So why is the government of the United States acting like a baby.

And did not Mr. Obama promise to be different, different than that bunch that gave us the "war on terror" and took away our rights granted us by the Constitution of the United States.

And where are the media, the same bunch that was up in arms due to the unfairness of the Iranian elections, but did not point out that Obama was meeting with the butcher of Georgia and Chechnya. Or the butcher of Tienanmen.

SO? Was i so wrong for chastising the media and the US government for butting into the upheaval in Iran, while we were sucking up to Saudis and the Egyptians.
What do we stand for after all? Is in this age of "relative morality" freedom is also relative, and the human rights too.

May be you are not familiar with her name, it is about time you learned about the third most dangerous terrorist in the Al Queida, may be even the world, or atleast this is the contention of the government of the United States.

And if so the question you should ask is WHY? As in why the media so lax about the hearings going on right now in New York.

Of course I do not expect unbiased coverage of her case, everyone has their opinion but I do believe that you have the right to know more than you are being told, that is if you are aware at all, I believe we have the right to know all that is out there so we can judge for our own self.

I am sure you may have heard the story before in bits and pieces. So I have placed links here for you to get a refresher.

Whether she is a terrorist or innocent, it remains to be seen. "Of course" she was captured by the Pakistani ISI, because that is what our government has told us it was so. And that she was transferred to Bagram, where she attacked eleven US military personnel and took one of their weapons and tried to kill them, all of which is also very plausible to me. The question then is this, was she tortured by the ISI? If so why is the US government NOT interested in finding out what they did to her since she was indicted in the United States and was captured at the behest of the United States, and what happened to her AMERICAN born children, where are they ? Does the United States government feel responsible to let the public know and present these children to the media or even the International Committee of the Red Cross. And second is the responsibility of the media? Whatever happened to John Anderson and John King and Fareed Zakaria? Where is Bill O'Reilly and Hannity and Geroldo? And how about Nancy Grace? She could really have ball with the rape angle on her show. And how great her rating would be if she really prove that the ISI murdered Aafia's kids.

Even as it is likely that she was tortured by the Pakistanis or Afghans, why not let the truth come out any way.

Hey, what is so wrong with telling the truth, especially when you are as big and strong as the United States of America. We should be able to tell the world, as do our friends in China and Russia and Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and Israel and Egypt, that we do not mind at all torturing people we don't like or are against us or we even just think they are up to no good. And we just made a big hassle about that stupid Iranian girl that got herself killed, yeah that is right she got her self killed and we just made noise to look good. We could let the two bit trouble makers know that if they get out of line we could just have our friends do all kinds of things.

Why is there such hypocrisy, what is all this lip service about human rights and conventions against torture, what is media always carping about not being controlled by the government? Why are we burying this story?

The case of Jose Padilla is also instructive, "In explaining her decision, Judge Marcia G. Cooke of Federal District Court in Miami acknowledged the gravity of the crimes Mr. Padilla had committed. But she questioned the range and impact of the conspiracy, saying that there was no evidence linking the men to specific acts of terrorism anywhere or that their actions had resulted in death or injury to anyone."

No one will accuse the US agents and agencies of lacking zeal, what is, however, inconceivable is this, and this will only occur to someone who understands the Pakistani and Afghan culture up close and personal is this. And you can take this to the bank, NO SANE PAKISTANI WOMAN WILL EVER TRAVEL ALONE AND INCOGNITO TO AFGHANISTAN. NO QUESTIONS! Shame on the US government to even pretend to accept the story. Secondly we all know that she was kidnapped along with her three children in Pakistan while she was being watched by the American agents, no way in hell the American services would have not been watching her if she was under indictment for terror in the US at that time. If not we would have been asking the Pakistan government to find her, don't say we did not ask them and what they told us???? What did they tell US? What dis Musharraf tell us? How did she stay underground for five years only to pop up in an American tent trying to kill them? ARE WE THAT DAMNED STUPID AS THAT?
